Hockey is a very dangerous sport, and sometimes our teeth are the casualties. Having missing teeth, or very few teeth at all, has become a symbol of how aggressive the sport is.

Players with less teeth than normal people are often labelled as tough guys and bad asses, and in truth, many of them are.

These players made their dentists very rich people indeed.Let's look at the 22 worst teeth in NHL history.

Matthew Barnaby was a pretty physical player in his day, and he fought on several occasions. His teeth are a result of his physical play for sure.

Ken Daneyko is missing quite a few teeth here, and it definitely proves he was in some battles over his career.

Paul Stastny is one of the bright young centers in hockey, and he's already lost a few teeth in his young career.

Brian Sutter captained the St. Louis Blues for years, and the 1,786 penalty minutes he accumulated in his career suggests he was a pretty physical player.

Eric Belanger is one tough hockey player, and when his tooth was rocked in the first period of a game, he went to the bench and played dentist himself, pulling his tooth out.

Chris Pronger's teeth are in bad shape, and you can't even see his bottom ones here.

But he finds himself on this list because he's been responsible for many players losing their teeth over the last decade or so.
