How do you make a full size soccer goal? ›

11-a-side goals are usually referred to as full size football goals and are commonly used for senior 11-a-side games standing at 24ft wide x 8ft high. These goalposts are the most popular size of goal used and can be seen at any professional football event or even at the park.

In professional football, the standard goal size is 24 feet in width and 8 feet in height (7.32 metres by 2.44 metres). However, this one-size-fits-all approach does not apply to all levels of play.

According to official guidelines, footballs used in the NFL should be 11.0 to 11.25 inches (27.9cm to 28.6cm) long and have a “long circumference” (measured around the ball from end to end) of 28.0 to 28.5 inches (71.1cm to 72.4cm).

“The distance between the inside of the posts is 7.32 m (24ft) and the distance from the lower edge of the crossbar to the ground is 2.44 m (8 ft).” In other words, the regulation size of a soccer goal used in a senior 11-a-side game should be 24ft x 8ft.

Gather cloth rags, plastic and paper shopping bags, newspapers, and twine. Crumple one bag into a small ball, which will be the center of the finished ball. Layer other bags, newspaper, and cloths over the center, taking care to keep the ball round and push out air pockets with each layer.
