It’s ironic that I’m handing out tips on the front tuck today because I think I could have done a little better on it in these photos — but too late.
I abandoned the front tuck in late fall + winter, but now that it’s spring I’m back at it for some reason.
While this isn’t my besttuck — I probably should have bloused it out a little more — I thought I’d walk you through my steps to getting a front tuck. It’s super simple:
1. Tuck in the front part of your shirt, usingthe two belt loops around the button fly as your guide. Just tuck your shirtbetween those two belt loops. Once you do this a few times, you’ll be able to replicate it even if you’re wearing bottoms with belt loops.
2. Here’s the key to it all: Now that you’ve got your tuck, take the hem of yourshirt on bothsides of your tuck and foldit under, towards your body. Check outthe first picture to see how I did this — you can see that the hem isn’t showing at all at the front or the side.
3. Adjust a little by pulling + mussing. Sometimes I like to pull one side out a little more than the other so they aren’t even. Like, “Oh this? I didn’t even try.”
