How many plays should a flag football team have? ›

Start with eight to 10 individual plays in your flag football playbook. This allows your team to have enough variety in formations, plays and motions, without becoming too confused between the different options. Once your team feels confident in those plays, you can then expand and add more to try out.

Kickers do not score extra points. A team can choose to go for a single point by passing from the 5-yard line or two points passing from the 10-yard line. The defense can score points by either intercepting the ball, which is worth five points, or stopping its opponent on downs, which is worth two points.

In 7 on 7 football, offensive and defensive linemen are absent, elevating the importance of quarterback skills, precise passing, and adept route running for receivers.

Each play must include three offensive linemen – a center and two guards, one on either side of the center. These players are ineligible for first touch as the receiver of a pass regardless of the numbers on their jerseys and regardless if they are covered by an end.
