Arsenal's biggest wins of all time (2024)

Arsenal's biggest wins of all time (1)

It’s been a while since Arsenal absolutely battered an opponent in any competition. We used to do that so frequently during our days of Wenger ball, but our cautious approach makes it so difficult now.

We can always hope that the 5-0’s, 6-0’s and 7-0’s come back to the Emirates soon, and we clearly have the players to achieve that. If the likes of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Gabriel Martinelli all click, we can blow teams away, but it’s not so easy, is it?

Back in the day, Arsenal secured some massive results against teams in the country and abroad. Here’s a list of our 10 biggest wins of all time.

Arsenal’s biggest wins of all time

Arsenal 7-0 Slavia Prague

The Gunners took on the Czech giants at the Emirates in the Champions League in October 2007, and we were on another level that night. Cesc Fabregas and Theo Walcott scored a brace each, while Nicklas Bendtner and Alexander Hleb chipped in with a goal as well. David Hubacek scored an own goal to push our lead up to 7-0 and it was truly a memorable night.

Boro came to town in January 2006 and The King was in the mood. A sensational Thierry Henry hat-trick plus goals from Robert Pires, Gilberto Silva, Philippe Senderos and Alexander Hleb sealed our biggest ever win in the Premier League.

Arsenal 7-0 Everton

The Gunners hosted the Toffees at Highbury in May 2005 and we were just ruthless. Robert Pires scored a fantastic brace, while Robin van Persie, Patrick Vieira, Dennis Bergkamp, Edu Gaspar and Mathieu Flamini chipped in with a goal each to blow Everton away.

Standard Liege 0-7 Arsenal

This one here is a real throwback. Arsenal travelled to Belgium to take on Standard Liege in the Cup Winners’ Cup and it was an easy day in the office. Alan Smith, Ian Selley, Paul Merson, Tony Adams and Eddie McGoldrick scored a goal each, and Kevin Campbell got himself two to give us a stunning win.

Arsenal 7-1 Blackburn Rovers

The Rovers came to the Emirates in February 2012 and they were humiliated. Robin van Versie scored a hat-trick, Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain picked up a brace, and our current boss Mikel Arteta scored a fine goal too. Lifelong Liverpool fan Scott Dan decided to score an own goal in the end as seven on the scoreboard looks a lot cooler than six.

Arsenal 7-1 Sheffield Wednesday

1-0 to the Arsenal was a popular chant when George Graham was in charge, but the Gunners were in a more adventurous mood when the Owls came to town in February 1992. Campbell and Anders Limpar scored a brace, while Ian Wright, Merson and Smith got one each to pick up a splendid win.

Arsenal 7-1 Dinamo Bacau

Arsenal hosted the Romanian side at Highbury in March 1970 and it was a night to forget for Bacau. John Radford, Charlie George and Jon Sammels scored braces, and George Graham managed one as well to secure a stunning 7-1 victory in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup.

Kopenhagen XI 1-7 Arsenal

Another one from the Fairs Cup but this time, it’s away from home. Arsenal took on the Danish giants at the Idraetsparken in September 1963, and it was a really comfortable game. John MacLeod opened the scoring before Geoff Strong and Joe Baker banged in hat-tricks to pick up a 7-1 win.

Arsenal 6-0 BATE Borisov

This was arguably the easiest game in Arsene Wenger’s final season at Arsenal. The Gunners smashed six past the Belarusian giants thanks to goals from Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott, Danny Welbeck, Jack Wilshere, Mohamed Elneny and skipper on the day Mathieu Debuchy. Denis Polyakov’s own goal pushed up the score to six.

Arsenal 6-0 Ludogorets

This was another memorable Champions League night at the Emirates. Alexis Sanchez opened the scoring with a stunner before Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain put us 3-0 up. Mesut Ozil then scored a stunning second-half hat-trick to give us a brilliant 6-0 win over the Bulgarians.
