I used to think Fulton Reed from the popular Mighty Ducks films would be the only person I ever saw blast a puck through a net. Of course, seeing it in a movie contradicts the real-life experience. Canada's 8-2 rout over Germany sets up the highly anticipated showdown with Russia in the quarterfinals. A loss would make the offensive explosion today forgotten but it shouldn't be because Shea Weber did something incredible.

Known for his hammer of a slapshot, Weber fired the puck through the net's mesh, only the officials didn't realize it because it went by goaltender Thomas Greiss that quick and deflected off the boards. Play resumed and a review during stoppage of play proved it was a legitimate goal which gave Canada a 2-0 lead.

Weber's strong shot is appreciated around the league with his 103 mile-per-hour velocity in last year's Superskills competition but come on. Shattered glass or broken bones is what usually results from the hardest shooters at best. Like Shea Weber's overall game, this occurrence is on another level.
