Celtic tell Snoop Dogg to book flights and attend club's title celebrations (2024)

Celtic have told rapper Snoop Dogg to book his flights to attend the their Scottish Premiership title winning celebrations.

Ange Postecoglou’s side recaptured the trophy after a 1-1 draw with Dundee United at Tannadice on Wednesday night.

Celtic took the lead through a 53rd minute goal from Giorgis Giakoumakis before Dylan Levitt equalised 20-minutes later for the hosts.

It was a tense end to the game for the Hoops but they were able to hold on for the point needed to confirm an unassailable lead at the top of the table.

The newly-crowned champions did not waste any time in planning their celebrations and sent a special invite to the hip-hop artist.

The club posted a tweet with a graphic of the US rapper wearing the green and white hoops along with the caption: “Get those flights booked, @SnoopDogg!"

Snoop claims to have been a Celtic fan since 2005 after DJ Big Al gave him one of the clubs shirts.

In March, the rapper revealed he was going to make the trip to Scotland to be a part of Celtic’s title party celebrations.

He told the Daily Record: "As soon as they are champions, you better believe I am on that flight to Glasgow.

"The night is going to go off and whatever they want to do, it’s all going to be on Snoop.

"The champagne is going to be out and we are going to get it poppin'.

"Glasgow is a crazy city and I don’t need an excuse to visit one of my favourite places in Europe. But to come over and party with the champions of Scotland would be special fo Schizzle."

Celtic conclude their triumphant season at home to Motherwell on Saturday where they will lift the Scottish Premiership title trophy.
