Class 8 – Corrosive Substances - AIDGC (2024)

Class 8 substances (corrosive substances) are substances which, by chemical action, will cause severe damage when in contact with living tissue, or, in the case of leakage, will materially damage, or even destroy, other goods or the means of transport.

Acids and Bases should be kept separately/segregated.

Specific care must be taken when handling and storing and the methods of storing need to be carefully considered due to the Corrosive effects on most commonly used storage materials.

These substances are identified by the Class 8 label and the Class 8 designation in any Safety Data Sheet.
