Comparing chlorine levels: your Clear Comfort pool vs. your drinking water [Infographic] (2024)

We are dependent on water for drinking, washing, cooking, swimming, growing crops and much more. With such a large impact, it’s in the best interest of our health and the health of our world to maintain the best water quality possible. Whether used for drinking or recreation, adding safe levels of chlorine is the most common way of disinfecting water.Excessivechlorine levels causesproblems; however, the typical low levels of chlorine in water sources kill the membranes of microorganisms that cause waterborne diseases. The United States Environmental Protection Agency reported that the maximum level of residual chlorine safe for drinking water is 4 parts per million. In contrast, the chlorine levels in a Clear Comfort home pool can range between just 0 to 1.5 ppm. In addition, the Clear Comfort system destroys harmful chlorine resistant microorganisms including Cryptosporidium, a recreational water illness. Although we wouldn’t recommend it, Clear Comfort pools have chlorine levels that are low enough to drink!To illustrate our point here’s a comparison of the chlorine levels reported in Arizona, Florida and Texas drinking water versus the low chlorine levels found in a Clear Comfort home pool.
