Did someone ask you to buy a Super Bowl square? Here's how it works
Super Bowl squares are a popular way to get in on the fun of the big game and have a chance to win some cash. To play, print out a 10x10 grid paper. The numbers 0-9 are then assigned to the rows and columns (usually in random order), giving each of the 100 boxes in the grid an assigned number in both the row and column. The row of numbers and the column of numbers must then be assigned a Super Bowl team, one for the Philadelphia Eagles and one for the Kansas City Chiefs. Participants then choose how many squares they would like to purchase, and each is assigned a universal price tag, maybe $10 per square. Once the grid is filled with names, you're all set. Typically, the numbers on the rows and columns represent the last digit of each team's score. When each quarter of the Super Bowl ends, check the last digit of each team's total points so far and see which square matches the numbers. For example, after the first quarter of the score is Eagles 10, Chiefs 7, then the person with the square that corresponds with the 0 for the Eagles and the 7 for Chiefs is the winner. Prizes typically come at the end of each quarter and for the final score. Each square doesn't necessarily give a 1% chance of winning, either. One NFL expert recommends avoiding the numbers 2 and 5, since the final Super Bowl score has rarely ended in either of those numbers — only twice in the last 25 Super Bowl games.Happy square picking!
