Where is PBS North Carolina located? ›

The broadcast signals of the twelve television stations cover almost all of the state, as well as parts of Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. The network's operations are located at the UNC Center for Public Television at Research Triangle Park between Raleigh and Durham.

On January 12, 2021, UNC-TV Public Media North Carolina rebranded as PBS North Carolina, Powered by the UNC System.

What is the difference between Passport and PBS Masterpiece? Passport is a benefit PBS allows its member stations to offer to their members. PBS Masterpiece is a completely separate on-demand streaming subscription service offered by Amazon.

You will have made an account specifically for Amazon. Both this account and service cannot be used at PBS. Likewise, a PBS account and Passport can not be used at Amazon's site or apps. Other sites separate from PBS or a member station will not recognize your Passport benefit.

Passport is currently available through new Samsung Smart TVs (2018, 2019, 2020), Android TVs, Streaming Devices, and Casting Devices. These specific TV models for Samsung have the app pre-downloaded. As far as we know all 2020+ models have the app available. Android TVs use the Google Play Store app to download apps.
