You have to be joking, right?
While you may think the title is misleading, it actually isn’t because there are SO many ways to get free cash from a lot of big companies you may have heard of. From free money from apps to signing up for a survey site, there are a ton of ways to receive these bonuses almost instantly with no strings attached.
Yes, while some are considered “bonuses” and restrictions may apply, it’s still money you didn’t have to earn.
And trust me, once you earn the first-time bonus, most of the time, it will only take you a pinch of your time to meet the minimum threshold in most cases. With that being said, try to sign up for as many of these companies as possible to earn a TON in free bonus money.
Now, if you’re looking for FREE money, where you just give me your name and Paypal address, well, this isn’t for you. I don’t think you will find anything like that online, sorry!
With a TON of options out there, I wanted to share some awesome companies I have used in the past that are willing to send you some free cash just for signing up. That’s all I will talk about here, with the exception of a few additional ideas at the end.
In the end, for instance, I also touch upon some great governmental resources as well as some outside-the-box options that could net you a few extra bucks, all for free.
With all of this out of the way, let’s earn some free cash!
Swagbucks [$5 to $10]
By far, Swagbucks is one of the most popular reward websites online that pay you to complete surveys, watch videos, play games and so much more.
AND, just for signing up, Swagbucks will often offer a free sign-up bonus that varies anywhere from $5 to as much as $10. Usually, you will see your bonus sign-up offer on the main page before you sign up.
Now, you can’t just sign up, take your money and run.
It doesn’t work that way, unfortunately, as you will need a minimum amount of points before you’re able to cash out. This is how most of these companies work.
However, I can almost assure you that if you spend the next few hours completing some surveys and offers, youcouldhave enough to get $25 in Paypal cash. If it is free money by Paypal that’s what you want, then this is one of your better options.
For me, when I first signed up, it didn’t take me long at all as I qualified for a lot of surveys.

MyPoints, owned by the same company as Swagbucks, works in the same way.

The nice thing about MyPoints is that they will reward you with a $10 welcome bonus just for joining and meeting the restrictions. It can change, but be sure to read the fine print before joining. Usually, you just need to shop at a qualifying retailer.
Nonetheless, MyPoints is another great option to add to your list if you’re looking for free money.

Yet another rewards website that pays you to complete a variety of tasks,Creations Rewards will reward you to complete surveys, watch videos, explore videos and so much more.
Operating since 2000, the company has been rewarding its members for more than 18 years now with a strong track record online.
And like a lot of these reward websites,Creations Rewards will give you a free $5 bonus, but according to the fine print, you do need to earn at least 5,000 points within the first 60 days to qualify.

Like Creation Rewards, Swagbucks and the many others I listed already,SendEarnings also offers a free $5 bonus to new members as well when you sign up for the first time.
Paying out more than $35 million to its members and mentioned on hit shows, such Good Morning America, the Today show and ABC News,SendEarnings is a highly reputable website that primarily pays you to take surveys for some of the world’s most well-known companies.
I can’t reiterate it enough.
Make sure you sign up for as many of these survey companies as possible, especially those that offer a free bonus to really earn some quick cash.
To me, taking these surveys is one of the easiest ways to make a few extra bucks online and bonuses just make it that much easier to earn even more.

I did write a review on them and highly recommend them, especially if you don’t mind taking surveys. I found them to pay quite well in that regard.
It’s completely free to join and no credit card is required, I can guarantee you that.

Take surveys and earn rewards, all while in the comfort of your own home, with Univox.
And just for joining, the company will instantly credit your account with $2!
Once in, Univox will then email you survey invites, which are said to be quick and easy to answer, according to the company.

It’s a small bonus, but TreasureTrooper will give you $1 just for joining their rewards portal.
Around since 2005,TreasureTrooper has been one of the internet’s earliest innovators in this space, still kicking to this day.
The company has hundreds of offers, ranging in payments from as little as $0.50 to more than $50! They also have fun chats and treasure hunts to earn even more.

Ah, the list continues.
Cash4Offers pays you to complete offers, take surveys, play games and even refer your games, much like the many others already mentioned.
And if you join and confirm your e-mail address, the company will credit you with a cool $5.

Squishy Cash [$3]
Squishy Cash is a smaller website that works just like the companies already mentioned, but it could be yet another one to consider. I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite, however.
Once you join and confirm your email, the company will credit your account with $3.
Squishy Cash pays you to complete offers, take surveys, try products and even play games.
Membership is 100% free.

Ibotta – [$10]
Now that the survey-type websites are out of the way, yes, the list continues on with Ibotta, a receipt scanning app that rewards you to shop.
In short, Ibotta will reward you every time you upload a receipt from one of the hundreds of big-name retailers, primarily grocery stores listed on their app.
Download the app, search for your favorite store and see which items will give you cash back.
For example, while I was writing this, I could get $3 cash back if I purchased baby formula at Target. BUT, this is just one of the THOUSANDS of items currently listed, so I highly encourage you to at least download the app and check it out to see what kind of offers you can take advantage of.
Then, if you plan on making that purchase and/or already made it, upload your receipt with that particular item/s on it and the app will credit your account.

Dosh – [$5 to $10]
The Dosh app will automatically credit your account with a certain amount of cash back every time you use a linked credit card with one of their merchants and takes NO effort on your part.
For example, I linked my credit card, and in my region, at one point, I could earn up to 6% cash back on Sam’s Club. So, for every $100 I spent, I could get $6 back for shopping as I normally would. Add in that bonus and I’m already at a cool $11.
And if you sign up right now and link a credit card, DOSH will automatically add $5, sometimes $10 to your account! This will depend on the current promotion, however.
Again, the app is simple.
Download the DOSH app, link a credit card and start shopping as you normally would. Every time you swipe your card that’s linked to DOSH, the app does the rest and instantly gives you cash back.
You would be quite surprised at how many big-name merchants the company works with.
Once you download it, there’s really nothing more you need to do unless you want to see which merchants you can get cash back with.

Acorns [$5]
Whether you’re thinking about investing or maybe want to start investing, this is where Acorns can help.
Acorns will invest your spare change automatically into your investment portfolio, making it one of the easiest ways to save money for your retirement.
So if you made a $10.05 purchase, Acorns would round it up and invest $0.95 into your account. And don’t laugh, you’d be amazed at how FAST this adds up.
To date, Acorns has more than $1 BILLION invested with more than four million active members, so it’s safe to say it’s a pretty reputable company.
And best of all? The company will often give you a $5 boost to get you started.
Regardless, even if you don’t get the bonus, it’s an awesome way to save for your future.

Lyft or Uber [varies]
Have a car and want to work when you want?
If you don’t mind driving around people to their destination, then Lyftor Uber may be for you.
To qualify, Lyft and Uber asks that you’re at least 21 years old, have a smartphone and pass an online DMV and background check. You will also be asked to upload a valid insurance policy and drivers license as well.
Uber and Lyft is always offering some kind of bonus, sometimes in the high hundreds, but this often depends greatly on the city you plan on driving in.
Usually, if you apply on the main website, it will tell you exactly how much you can make in bonuses and what you will need to do to earn it.

Credit Card Bonuses [varies]
To me, this is one of my favoriteways to get free money, and in some cases, you may not have to spend a dime to earn it! And I’m talking $100+ in free cash in some cases.
And if you’re unfamiliar with the world of credit card bonuses, let me tell you how they work really quick.
Almost all of your credit card companies will almost always offer some sort of sign-up bonus when you apply for a credit card. It could be a free $50, $100 or as much as $1,000 in some cases.
Of course, in most cases, you do need a good credit score to get approved most of the time, usually higher than 720+ but many factors do apply. If you want to know what your credit score is for free, with no strings attached, I highly recommend CreditKarma.com.
Now, a lot of times, youmayhave to spend $X in a certain amount of time, usually within three months, to qualify, but again, as I mentioned, some credit card companies may give you the bonus simply for signing up. It will be laid out on the application page, so just make sure you read it closely to understand the terms and conditions.
As I don’t have a credit card bonus website just yet, I recommend you refer to this credit card bonus spreadsheet. It’s a great free spreadsheet I found on Reddit and it’s updated all of the time with the current credit card offers.
Here, you can see the best credit card sign-up offers available, what kind of bonus you can get and what kind of annual fee you may be looking at.
No downloads are necessary as it’s an online Google document.
Bank Bonuses [varies]
Just like the credit card bonuses, bank bonuses work in the same way, but most of the time, the bank will ask that you deposit a few hundred dollars to qualify.
But if you think of it, you’re just transferring money from one place to another, so essentially, you’re not losing anything in the process.
And to find these bank bonus websites, I recommend you check out the following resources to see if any are of interest and worth joining to earn your free cash:
Glancing at a few, one bank was offering up to $750 in bonus money, for example, while a lot of the other banks were offering $150, $200 or even $300+ just for opening an account and transferring in some funds.
And no, you don’t need thousands of dollars to qualify, I can assure you that much.
And while I can’t guarantee the bonus deal will be there when you click, the following banks almost always have some sort of bank bonus going on:

Since there’s a good chance you’re shopping online, I wanted to point out the many cash back websites online that simply pay you a percentage of your bill back just for clicking on a special link, that’s it!
And if you haven’t joined any of the following websites noted below, many of them will offer you a special one-time bonus, ranging anywhere from $5 to $10.
So the next time you plan on making a purchase online ANYWHERE, be sure to check out the following cashback portals to see if you can get some cash back.
Ebates – [$5 to $10]
To me, Ebates is one of the highest paying and one of the largest cash back shopping portals on the web.
And if you’re unfamiliar with the company, Ebates will give you cash back every time you make a purchase online by following a special link inside your Ebates dashboard.
So, for example, if you needed to make a purchase online with Kohl’s, they would give me 3% cash back. This cash back rate, however, ALWAYS changes, so use this as an example.
Then, as long as you follow the “shop now” link on your dashboard and complete your purchase, Ebates will credit your account with that cash back.
Once you hit $5, Ebates will send you a “Big Fat Check.”

Paribus
I didn’t know where to include this option because it technically deals with shopping; however, it isn’t a cashback per se.
With Paribus, you sign up with your email, and thenParibus will monitor your inbox for receipts to see if you qualify for any refunds from the stores they monitor.
Now, you’re probably thinking, how will I get a refund?
In some cases, a lot of major retailers will offer you a price difference if the item you purchased dropped in the past 30 days. If you purchased a pair of shoes, for example, and the price dropped $10 a week later, you could be entitled to $10 in your pocket.
So, instead of monitoring all of the purchases you made in the past, Paribus does all of the dirty work for you.
Paribus is 100% free and is operated by Capital One, making it a very reputable and safe tool.

Prescription Transfers
Do you need a prescription every so often?
Well, if you’re not loyal to a certain pharmacy, retail pharmacies are almost always offering you as much as $75 to simply transfer and have your prescription filled at their pharmacy. In short, all you need to do is bring your prescription to them and that’s it!
And to find these deals, you can do a few things.
For one, visit your local pharmacy’s main website to see if any coupons are available. You can also ask in person if any deals are available.
Or, if you’re impatient and don’t want to search for a deal, consider buying a prescription transfer coupon for as little as $0.99 on eBay.
Class Action Lawsuits
Every week, there’s a good chance you’re buying multiple products or even subscribing to some services. Add these weeks up over the years and that’s a lot of products!
While lawsuit money isn’t free money today, it’s money that you’re entitled toifyou purchased or subscribed to a service of the past. Essentially, itisfree money.
If you’re unfamiliar with these lawsuits, here’s how it works.
In short, a group or an individuals will sue a company for some reason, such as suffering from an injury or for a defective product, for example.
And if the subject wins, then those who submit a claim and can show proof of purchasing that product or service can then be entitled to a portion of the winnings.
While it’s not much, I recommend you research the following websites to see if you purchased any of the products on the settlement list.
If you see any products you did purchase, submit a claim and proof and hope the check arrives in the mail!
Rent out a Room with AirBNB [$40]
Own a house with a few bedrooms that you’re not using? Or maybe you don’t mind renting out the entire home when you’re away?
Consider renting out through Airbnb and make at least $xx or as much as $100+ a night, greatly depending on the demand of your area, what you’re offering and where you’re living.
And the great thing about Airbnb is that you can choose when you want to rent your house/room out.
So if you only want to rent it out for a few days and stop you can, but if you love the money you’re making, feel free to keep the listing active.
You’re already living there and paying the expenses. Why not have someone pay to hang out with you for the day?

Just like AirBNB, Turo works in the same way,butit deals with your car.
If your car is rotting in the driveway, Turo gives you the opportunity to rent it out for $20, $30 or even $50 per day, all depending on where you live and what kind of car you have.

And that’s not all — there are no monthly fees and no buy-in, making it so that you have nothing to lose!

Donate Plasma
If you’re not afraid of giving blood, local plasma centers are willing to pay you to do so, sometimes as much as $400+ a month!
These figures will all depend on your health, the location you choose and how often you go, but if you don’t mind setting some time out of your day, this is one of the easiest ways to earn some cash.
To find a local plasma donation center, a simple Google search often works, using search terms such as “sell plasma” or “plasma donation center.”
And from there, research the centers in your area and contact them in regards to payment options.
Sell Clothes
We wrote about this in the past (22+ apps to sell clothes), but if you have clothes laying around that you’re no longer using, you may be sitting on a few dollars.
Consider rummaging through your closet and picking out the clothes you haven’t worn in the past 60 days.
Then, consider one of these 20+ apps I recommend and list your clothes for some quick cash.
Or better yet, if you don’t want to waste your time with the whole process, consider shipping your clothes to threadUPfor an instant quote.
Sell Old Books
There’s probably a good chance you have a bookshelf in a room just collecting dust.
So think to yourself, “Why the heck do you need these books?”
In many cases, even if you were able to get $2 per book, you could be sitting on a few hundred dollars if you have a bookshelf full.

How to Get Free Money from the Government
Unclaimed.org
In some cases, if you have any unclaimed property, such as bank account contents, stocks, uncashed checks, insurance policies, deposits, class action lawsuit money and so forth, companies will submit this information to the government in hopes you claim it since you’re entitled to it
And this is where a free website like Unclaimed.org comes in.
Unclaimed.org is a 100% legitimate website that’s operated by theNational Association of State Treasurers.
In short, this website helps connects U.S. citizens find any unclaimed money, ranging from older security deposits or even uncollected insurance reimbursem*nts.
The website is 100% free, and to use, click on the state you want to search and the website will directly to the right government website.

Much likeUnclaimed.org,MissingMoney.com works in the same way and is endorsed by the NAUPA and participating states and provinces.
If you search the website, they will thoroughly search all participating states and will attempt to find your family’s missing, lost and/or unclaimed property.
Here, searches are always 100% free and is yet another resource I recommend you check out to see if any money is owed to you.
There’s no guarantee there’s free money waiting for you, but these databases are 100% FREE to use and will only take a few minutes of your time, so why not check?

Unclaimed Pension Benefits
In your working career, there could have been a chance your company was either bought out or maybe it went bust.
In a situation such as this, most people apply for a new job and quickly forget about their working past.
Well, if you had a pension plan with your previous employer that is no longer active, theremaybe a chance you have a pension you’re entitled to.
To see if you do, search the government’s official Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation website.
And if you’re lucky and your name pops up, click on it to see how you can start the process to claim it.
Federal Pell Grant
If you’re going to college or plan on attending, you may have already started your research in ways to pay for college, but I just wanted to include this option here as it is technicallymoney that does not have to be paid back.
Aside from scholarships, highly consider researching the Federal Pell Grant as you can receive up to as much as 5,000+perschool year.
Of course, not everyone qualifies as it will be based on your income, the cost of attendance and other various factors. Also, those who have earned a bachelor’s degree already will not qualify, either.

For qualifying taxpayers, theVolunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) offers free tax help to people who generally make $54,000 or if you have a disability or hard time speaking English.
These certified IRS volunteers provide a free basic income tax return preparation as well as the electronic filing, helping you save on tax filing fees.

Student Loan Forgiveness
Have a hefty student loan and wish you could get rid of it?
Well, there could be a chance that your loan could be wiped clean only if you abide by the student loan forgiveness rules. However, it won’t be as easy as snapping your fingers and watching it disappear, sorry!
And with so many of these programs out there, this could be a whole another post in itself, but for now, I recommend this wonderful StudentLoanHero.com guide.
Browse through a variety of these very reputable loan programs on the list and see if you may qualify.

Again, you’re going to have to qualify and it could take some work on your part.
Avoid the Free Money Scams
Ah, the internet.
It’s filled with so many scams that claim you can get free money, but sadly, it isn’t the case a lot of times.
So in this section, I wanted to touch upon what you should look out for when you’re browsing another website.
- NEVER EVER pay any fees. Free money, such as a lot of the bonuses I mentioned above, will require no credit card information. Don’t even bother with your credit card. PUT IT AWAY.
- While a lot of legitimate websites do ask for your personal information, never give out sensitive information such as your social security number. An email and address is okay but don’t do much more than this.
- If you need government assistance, it’s best to trust a .gov or .edu website when asking questions or even filling out an application. Yes, there are reputable .com and .org websites. If visiting one, just make sure you do your research.
- As the old saying goes, “IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE,” well, it is! Trust your gut. A legitimate company can offer a nice bonus, but just make sure you’re working with someone you can trust.
I noted it in the intro paragraph and I will note it again — money DOES NOT come easy.
And while there are ways to get free cash, per se, it’s still going to take some work on your part. Plus, as you can see, these bonuses are quite slim anyway.
Whether it’s shopping online, signing up for a research company or even looking for government assistance, it’s not going to be as easy as typing in your name and hitting enter.
Personally, if you want easy and free cash, signing up for the many survey companies I mentioned at the top are, by far, the easiest way to snag a few extra bucks.
