Hanuman Ji was powerful than Ravan (1)

Ravana was a param Shiva Bhakta, whose power was so much that he tried to lift the Kailash Parvat (until Lord Shiva put down his toe to bring the mountain down again) and Hanuman was a param Rama Bhakta whose power was so much that he brought an entire Sanjeevani Parvat in order to help Lakshman. Hanuman is the avatar of Rudra (Lord Shiva), but the following incident from Ramayana might help in knowing each of their powers.

During the final Yuddha between Sri Rama and Ravana, once Sri Hanuman and Ravana come face to face. as soon as Ravana tries to attack Hanuman, Hanuman hardly gets hurt and in turn punches Ravana. This punch from Hanuman is so powerful that it knocks Ravana unconscious. After a lot of time, Ravana wakes up to find Hanuman still standing in front of him. Ravana starts praising Hanuman about his strength and that he is the first ever to flatten a parakrami (powerful person) like Ravana.

And after listening to Ravana's words, Hanuman does not react. a visibly shocked Ravana asks him the reason. Hanuman says "You are talking about my power, while all the time i am left wondering that even after my most deathly punch, you are the first person to still be alive and you have even managed to wake up and are praising me. That is why i am wondering what power are you even talking of ". Seeing all this, Jambavan comes and tells Hanuman that such a blow would have killed anyone including Ravana, but Ravana didn't die for the sole reason that his death is not in Hanuman's hands, but in the hands of Sri Rama(because of the promise made by Sriman Narayana to Jaya and Vijaya). Then Hanuman realises the actual reason for Ravana being still alive.

Since Ravana himself agreed that Hanuman is more powerful, the conclusion for your question is obvious, Sri Hanuman is the more powerful amongst the two. According to Ravan own statement : "O hero! The armies cannot protect you, even if they are in multitudes. There is no use taking a weapon like a strong thunder bolt against the monkey. There is no limit to the strength of Hanuman the son of wind-god. It is not possible to kill him, who resembles fire, by means of any weapon.

He defeated Lakshman twice using infallible Maya and Brahma spear. Obliterated the entire vanar army using Brahma's missile Tamasa and collapsed it hundred divisions from all the directions. Crushed Adityas Rudras Vasus and Maruts in the encounter single handedly. Penetrated oceanic gods army hundred yojanas and countered all their weapons. In terms of physical strength Hanuman is much superior to Ravana . In terms of power Ravana has a slight edge due to divyastras. However it's not possible for each other to kill themselves .Ravan powers falters in front of Hanuman . Hanumans brute strength alone is not enough to kill Ravana he will simply keeps coming back regenerating hundreds of heads.

Hanuman is non different from Lord Shiva, he is invincible on account of the various boons received from almost all the celestials and additionally he is a param bhakta of the Supreme Rama. Ravana pales in comparison to the radiant and incomparable Bajrangbali. Lord Hanuman was never able to use his entire strength, He possessed infinite Strength, and using the entire would have caused universal havoc. So lord Brahma restricted His power use. •Lord Hanuman spared demons like Ravan, Kumbhkaran and meghnadh, just because the none of them were supposed to die from his hands, and additionaly, Meghnagh ran away from Lord Hanuman.

See that monkey, who was seen earlier and who appears here again. This monkey, by whom the ocean was traversed, is the eldest son of Kesari. He is known as the son of wind-god and famously called as Hanuman. This excellent monkey can assume any form at will. He is endowed with a good strength and form always moving like the wind-god, having an uninterrupted mobility."

"While yet a child, seeing the sun rise, he desired to eat it and took off to a distance of three thousand yojanas (or twenty four thousand miles) reflecting: 'I shall seize hold of the sun and my hunger will not be appeased otherwise' and they say, he leapt up (into the air) intoxicated as he was with his own strength. Without even reaching the sun, which is most unassailable even to celestials, sages or demons, he however fell on a mountain, where that radiant orb rises.

One of the jaws of this monkey who fell down on the head of the rock, was a little fractured. For this reason, because of his strong jaw, he is called Hanuman. This monkey is known to me actually through the words of my bosom friends. It is not possible to describe his strength or physical form or glory. He alone wants to destroy Lanka by his valour. How do you forget this monkey by whom this fire was lighted and is still blazing up Lanka. Ram Lkshman Janaki Jay Bolo Hanuman Ki
