HRC is the Army's functional proponent for military personnel management (except for The Judge Advocate General Corps and the Chaplain Corps) and personnel systems. We support the director of the Army National Guard, and the chief of the Army Reserve, in their management of the Selected Reserve.

HRC is located on Fort Knox, Kentucky, and includes 40 operational elements around the country under the leadership of the HRC commander.

The BLUE color of the flag denotes the color of the surrounding sea. The two yellow STRIPES on the flag denote the free position of Aruba with respect to The Netherlands and other islands while maintaining closeness with them.

The Rockwell scale C, also known as HRC, is a method used to measure the hardness of a knife. A higher hardness level means the knife can be sharper and maintain its edge for extended periods. Typically, kitchen knives have a hardness range of 50-65+ HRC, with most consumer knives falling between 52-62 HRC.

What does 55 HRC mean? ›

Very hard steel (e.g. chisels, quality knife blades): HRC 55–66 (Hardened High Speed Carbon and Tool Steels such as M2, W2, O1, CPM-M4, and D2, as well as many of the newer powder metallurgy Stainless Steels such as CPM-S30V, CPM-154, ZDP-189.

WHAT IS A GOOD ROCKWELL SCALE RATING FOR KITCHEN KNIVES? The best quality chef knives have a Rockwell Hardness Rating or HRC rating of 60 and above.

All our knives are rated for how hard they are with what is called the Rockwell rating or measurement (aka HRC) of the steel. HRC is clever in its simplicity, it simply measures how much of a dent/mark a diamond point can make in the metal with a measured amount of weight. The smaller the mark the harder the steel.

Up to 52 HRC: Too soft for making knives. 52-54 HRC: Quite soft steel, reasonable quality. 54-56 HRC: The hardness of many French chefs' knives. The steel is hard enough for kitchen use, but regular use of a sharpening steel is required to keep the knife sharp.
