Support Ending November 30, 2022

SCS Computing Facilities (SCSCF) is phasing out support for Catalina macOS 10.15 and will remove software support for computers still running Catalina on November 30, 2022.

On October 25, 2021, Apple released their current operating system macOS 12 Monterey. In keeping with Apple's release cycle, we anticipate, macOS 10.15 Catalina will no longer receive security updates starting in November 2022.

As a result, we are phasing out software support for all computers running macOS 10.15 Catalina and will end support on November 30, 2022.

What do I need to do?

To ensure our ability to continue to support your computer after November 30, 2022, please select one of the options listed below:If you have an SCS-supported computer still running macOS 10.15 Catalina, you have the following options:

Please Note: If you do not to upgrade your Catalina macOS 10.15 computer, it will not receive security patches or functionality updates. Unsupported computers limit our ability to help you. SCSCF software support charges will be canceled automatically as of December 1, 2022.

What does removing software support mean?

Upon removal from our Software Support service, your Mac will no longer have access to the SCS Software Store. This is how your Mac receives updates for existing software such as Microsoft Office.

Your Mac will no longer get automatic configuration updates. These are updates that determine how your Mac works within the SCS environment.

Also remember that once Software Support is removed, you will no longer have access to our PC Engineering support staff for software and operating system problems on your Mac.

Expect Big Sur support to end in 2023

With Apple's expected release of a new macOS version next year, Big Sur will be the third oldest version and will cease to be supported next year. When this occurs, SCSCF will stop providing software support for all computers running macOS 11 Big Sur on November 30, 2023.
