Man City are not guaranteed a place in the English Football League [EFL] if they are expelled from the Premier League, according to reports.
The reigning champions face an uncertain future as they face more than 100 charges relating to alleged breaches of financial rules dating back to the 2009/10 season.

After the announcement by the Premier League, following a four-year investigation, the club hit back with a strong statement, denying any wrongdoing, and insisting the charges were a surprise.
There are wide ranging sanctions Man City could now face that range from fines, to points deductions, and even expulsion from the Premier League.
An independent commision will now hear the charges and determine an outcome.
If the severest punishment was handed out to the six-time Premier League champions, their future would be uncertain.
The Telegraph report that the EFL, who comprise the 72 teams in the Championship, League One and League Two, would be under no obligation to admit City into its structure.
The independent body who will decide on City's fate have the power to expel, rather than relegate. This means it could create issues for the EFL.
They cannot have more than 72 teams and it may require a rule change in order to admit them.
Former Crystal Palace Simon Jordan does not believe, however, that the harshest of punishments will be given to City.
“I don’t think that will happen," he told talkSPORT. "I don’t think they will get booted out the league.
“I don’t think the Premier League’s balls would be that big. If they find them guilty then they will give them a points deduction, but I don’t think they will boot them out the league.”
