Marlins' All-Time Retired Numbers | Miami Marlins (2024)

On April 15, 1997, the Marlins joined every team in MLB in retiring No. 42 in honor of Jackie Robinson. The Marlins are the only Major League Baseball team that does not currently have numbers retired for former players, managers or coaches, although No. 16 has not been worn since Jose Fernandez's death in Sept. 2016 and No. 5 was retired 1993-2011 in honor of the first team president, Carl Barger. (No. 5 was unretired in 2012, originally so Logan Morrison could wear it as a tribute to his late father, who admired George Brett.)
