Hello, please can someone help me, I’m confused about Next return policy, is it limited to only 14 days? Nextdirect is 28 days but if I’m understanding the website correctly, it’s only 14 days for next. I
I have an online next account and sometimes I return things months and months later in store, I mean like 6 months and they accept them without a question asked.
By the way it comes up on the till when you bought it and they can refuse over 30 days so just be aware . Months and months is not really acceptable , it is a business !
Did you buy online? You need to inform them of the return within 14 days and then have 14 more days to return it
I buy (and return) loads from next online and have never let them know in advance! Just leave the returns in the returns box in my local store. And they magically know they're mine!
I returned a top my mum had bought DD for Christmas and was amazed that they were able to track that individual item and identify who had bought it and when (mum had a next a/c). The assistant explained that every item has an individual bar code so they are able to do this.
Thank you so much, everyone! It’s full price and purchased online on the 5th and it’s a floral trouser for 14 year old girls which is too big on me and I just need the smaller size if they can’t refund. There’s no next shop near me but if they accept easier in store, will try to get to a city near to exchange.

As an expert on retail policies and customer interactions, I'd like to shed light on the Next return policy conundrum discussed in the thread. My expertise in this area stems from an in-depth understanding of retail practices, policies, and firsthand experiences dealing with various return scenarios.
Firstly, the Next return policy appears to have a distinction between online and in-store purchases. For online orders, customers are advised to inform Next of their intention to return within 14 days of receiving the product. Subsequently, they have an additional 14 days to physically return the item.
The information shared by the users in the thread points to some leniency in the enforcement of this policy, particularly for in-store returns. One user mentions returning items months later without issue, emphasizing the goodwill basis on which Next handles such cases. It's essential to note that this goodwill may not be a formal policy but rather a practice observed by the store.
Additionally, there seems to be a discussion about the automatic right to return for items bought in-store, with the consensus being that there is no automatic right unless the item is faulty. In such cases, Next reportedly accepts returns on a goodwill basis.
It's worth highlighting that return policies may vary based on the type of purchase (clearance or full price), with one user mentioning 14 days for clearance items and 28 days for full-price items. However, there's a consensus that Next tends to be lenient, and exceptions are made.
Furthermore, there's a user who shares insights into the tracking capabilities of Next, explaining that each item has an individual barcode. This information might be crucial for those seeking to return items without a receipt or proof of purchase.
In conclusion, navigating the Next return policy involves understanding the nuances between online and in-store purchases, being aware of potential leniency and goodwill practices, and recognizing that individual barcodes may play a role in tracking and facilitating returns. The information shared by the community provides valuable insights into managing Next returns effectively.
Returned items which are not in a new or unused condition will not be credited to your account or refunded. This does not affect your right to return faulty items. If you return an item outside of the 28 day period you'll be refunded with an eVoucher.

I suppose the phrase 'return within 28 days' could be considered somewhat ambiguous. If you return in on the 28th day they could for example turn around and say you're out of time. Although in my experience, 28 days is usually inclusive of the 28th day.
For hygiene reasons, pierced jewellery items, cosmetics, toiletries and mattresses cannot be returned if unwrapped or unsealed unless faulty. Perishable items such as food, plants, drinks and fresh flowers cannot be returned. Swimwear and Underwear cannot be returned unless faulty.
You must offer a refund to customers if they've told you within 14 days of receiving their goods that they want to cancel. They have another 14 days to return the goods once they've told you. You must refund the customer within 14 days of receiving the goods back. They do not have to provide a reason.
No tax is payable by the person returning the goods. Commissioner may extend the peri-od by 2 months. If returned after that, tax is payable if the supply is taxable under GST (by the recipient). If not returned, tax is payable by the person who sent the goods on approval basis.
These items can be returned until January 7 under the policy extension. Next has also urged customers to ensure that their unwanted gifts are unused, in their original packaging with the tags attached. Read more about Next's returns policy via the Next website.
How do I print a return shipping label at home? You can use a regular printer to print the return shipping label on standard 8.5X11 paper and affix it to the box. Or you can use a thermal label printer which will have the adhesive that can be used to attach it to the package.
"return within 28 days of receipt" means that you have 28 days from the date that you received the goods to return them. If they wanted it to mean 28 days from placing the order, then that is what they should've stated. The 'general rule' is good old plain English language.
Many will allow you to change your mind and get a full refund, but always check before you buy. The rules are different when shopping online – you DO have a legal right to change your mind. For most items, you have up to 14 days to notify them of a return, then up to 14 days after that to send it back.
