Salute to Service represents the NFL's unwavering dedication to honoring, empowering, and connecting with our nation's service members, veterans, and their families. It is grounded in deep partnerships with the Bob Woodruff Foundation (BWF), Pat Tillman Foundation (PTF), Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), United Service Organizations (USO) and Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP). Since 2011, more than $66 million has been raised for these Salute to Service partners.

The USO and NFL work together to deliver programs and events that support active-duty service members and military families across the globe, keeping them connected to the things they hold dear: family, home, and country.From NFL players and coaches traveling overseas on USO tours, to building new USO centers including a state-of-the-art gaming mobile vehicle, the USO and NFL supports service members around the world throughout their service to the nation.

The NFL works with Wounded Warrior Project to support wounded veterans with empowering programs and resources. Initiatives like Project Odyssey, a multi-day workshop, enhance mental health and assist veterans in rediscovering their inner strength. BACKGROUND ON RETAIL AND LICENSED PRODUCTS

All NFL Salute to Service product is produced by official NFL licensees. As NFL licensees, such companies pay a royalty (% of wholesale or retail sales, which varies) to the NFL when selling officially licensed products to retailers worldwide. The NFL receives payment of that wholesale or retail royalty once licensees sell their respective NFL licensed products to consumers, distributors and retailers (i,e., the royalty is not based on retailers' consumer-facing prices in-store or online). The NFL does not retain any royalties (or other proceeds) received from the sale of Salute to Service products. All of those funds (between 5% and 20% of the purchase price of each item, depending on the item) are awarded by the NFL Foundation to the NFL's nonprofit Salute to Service partners, designated by the NFL in its sole discretion each season.
