Follow the instructions below if you are experiencing loose tension:
Probable Causes:
- Top or bobbin thread is not set correctly.
- Thread does not match the needle.
- Thread tension setting is not properly set.
1. The upper threading could be threaded incorrectly
- Re-thread the top thread.
- Check that the upper tension is correct. Set the tension dial between 4-5.
2. Check the bobbin
- The bobbin thread could be wound incorrectly.
- Check the bobbin was inserted properly.
- Make sure that you are using a bobbin designed for this machine.
- Make sure that the bobbin was threaded properly in the shuttle race.
- Hold down the bobbin with your right hand with the thread unwinding to the left, and hold the end of the thread with your left hand.
- Then with your right hand, place the Bobbin in the Bobbin Case.
- Hold the end of the thread, push the bobbin down with your finger, and then pass the thread through the slit as shown below.
- Replace the Bobbin Cover.
- Remove any loose threads or lint in the shuttle race.
3. Change the needle.
4. Check the combination of the needle and thread size as well as the fabric you are trying to sew on

5. Using a scrap piece of material sew out your stitch and adjust the thread tension.
If the upper threading and lower threading are incorrect, the thread tension cannot be adjusted correctly, even by turning the upper tension control dial. Check the upper threading and lower threading first, and then adjust the thread tension.
