Washing Your Brush and Roller
Looking after your quality brush and roller can make all the difference to your job so it’s important that you take the time to properly prepare and care for your tools.

Before painting
Before painting, prep your roller by washing it out making it easier to load paint. With your brush soak it in an inch of water for 10 mins. Ensure you shake out excess moisture.
In between painting
In between paint coats or short breaks, avoid washing your roller/brush, instead, wrap it with cling wrap to keep it fresh.
Keep paint
For paint trays, buckets and pots wrap with aluminiumfoil.
On completion of your paint project
Once you finish painting at the end of the day you have a few options.
- Use cleaning tools
- Wash with water
- Store in keepers
Use cleaning tools
Use roller cleaner or brush comb to remove any excess paint from your roller/brush.
Wash with water
Wash your roller/brush in a bucket with soapy lukewarm water.
Store in keepers
Once dried, store your rollers/brushesin dry and out of weather place. You can store yourbrushes in the brush keeper while the rollers can be stored in a ziplock poly bag or roller canister.
