Get Ready to Scream: Why 'This' is the Perfect First Horror Movie

It is a horror movie based on Stephen King's novel and is rated R for strong violence, language, and disturbing imagery. Due to the graphic and intense nature of the movie, it may not be suitable for children under 12 or 13. While some children may be able to handle the content of the movie, it is ultimately up to the parents or guardians to decide whether their child can handle the content. It is always advisable to research the movie's content and ratings before allowing children to watch it. I think this is a great first HORROR movie for all kids and adults. If you're a parent and your child is a fan of horror movies, then "This" may be a great choice for them. While the film does contain some bloody and violent images, particularly in regard to the killer clown, it also delivers a powerful message of friendship, courage, and overcoming fears. The film follows a group of kids known as the "Outkast", who band together to fight the terrifying clown and save their town from his evil grip. Through their teamwork and determination, the kids demonstrate the importance of standing up for what's right, facing their fears, and supporting one another in times of need. Despite its horror elements, "This" ultimately delivers a positive and uplifting message that's suitable for viewers 12 and up! It's a film that shows that even in the darkest of times, there's always hope, and that by working together and supporting one another, we can overcome even the most daunting of challenges. So, if you're looking for a horror movie that delivers more than just scares, "This" is definitely worth checking out.

A Good Start Before Going with Overuse of Jump scares and Poor Direction

It Based on the novel from stephen king whose novel have terrifed readers for decades comes a version that has more whys then answers the film has a good start starting with the way the novel opens up but misses the mark with adding humor in places it doesnt belong or wanted but then slowly pacing through out the film it has one Jumpscare After another each ending Almost the same way each time and the look of pennywise shows danger where george is afraid of him and still tries to take his boat anywhay be fore Biting his arm off and dragging him into the sewers' the film has its own use of 1980s direction that was only for the 80s and its tone is rather inconsistent and the characters changed from what they were in the book and only covering the first half of the novel focusing on the children and rather focus on building fear and suspense together it lacks both rather then using suspense and tension to build fear it just uses one jump scare after another becoming a bore as the film goes on by the end you would wanted a better and expected a better movie then this film has has offered been and its ending was a letdown

It is the best!!!

It is a great movie but people always say about how ‘terrifying’ it is, but I dont see it neither does my cousin when she saw it we both agree that it’s not scary in the slightest but there is a lot of swearing and quite a bit of blood including a boy stabbing his father in the neck with a knife and the f word a lot of the time and some teenage kids abusing a kid and another kid getting abused by there father but overall it’s an epic movie!!!

Great film, but not for kids under 13

I recommend this film to everyone who loves slightly disturbing films and TV shows like me but for anyone under the age of 13 you really should not watch it. It's very gory and contains adult language. Psychologically any kid that isn't a teen (13+) would find this film frighting even if the child says it was fine or the trailer doesn't scare me or even if they've seen clips of the film because if you watch the whole film and the whole story put together they are not going to find it appealing. The reason why it's okay for a 13 year old and up is because if you put it next to other scary films it's not very scary and it also depends on the child whether they are mature enough to realise that it is not real. Overall you should not let a 12 year old watch this unless you're absolutely sure your child will be fine with it but anywhere over 12 you're fine to watch it if you would like, but ask you're parent first, it's not my decision.

Not as scary as you would think

It has a lot of blood and curse words, the kids make clueless attempts of sex jokes but you hardly hear or realize them and it shouldn’t be a problem, so if sexual content is your concern it should be fine for your 12 year old.

TV-PG-13- Brief Suggestive Content, Strong Language, Disturbing & Scary Scenes

If your child has watched Ouija, Insidious, Jaws, Poltergeist, and other PG & PG-13 horrors then this one is fine. I watched this with my 11-year-old and those are the movies he has seen. this is a great introduction to R-rated horror movies The Next One Is "The Conjuring" Check My Review

At the end they make a blood promise, friends help eachother, and mostly about friendship.

One of my favorite movies. Some positive messages,it’s not that bad.there’s a lot of swearing,no nudity, boys arm gets ripped off.boy shooting lambs on there head,a lot of blood, daughter gets raped by her father, tho it doesn’t show it.teenage girl smokes cigarettes.bullying, fat shaming, racism, hom*ophobia, bully cuts boy with pocket knife in the stomach, teenage boys hit clown with chains, bear hands, bats, and guns, though it hardly shows it,it’s fine for mature children.

Awesome!

This movie is great! My stepson watched this and loved it! There was one scene were Beverly’s dad was acting creepy and my stepson counted the f words there were 61! The language might be bad but it’s a movie about bullying and friendship. This movie may be scary for kids under 8 but I would recommend 10!
