How to Unlock the Platinum Ticket

advertisem*nt

The Platinum Ticket can only be unlocked by completing the main story missions of Bayonetta 3. Once the credits have rolled, you'll receive notifications about new items available to purchase in Rodin's Gates of Hell shop - one of them being the Platinum Ticket.

You can find the Platinum Ticket in the Items Tab in the Gates of Hell shop, under the Red Hot Shot.

How Much Does the Platinum Ticket Cost?

The Platinum Ticket requires a hefty 999,999 Seeds to purchase it. If you're looking for ways to farm Seeds, stock up on Midas' Testament (or concoct them) and revisit chapters where you have to fight a lot of enemies in quick succession, such as the prologue.

Side Chapter 4 - The Doctor is Out is another way to gain lots of Seeds quickly. Aim for the glowing enemy on the bike about halfway into the level, to make them drop a green teapot. This will spawn multiple enemies quickly, allowing you to take them down as Cutie J and earn yourself plenty of Seeds.

What Does the Platinum Ticket Do?

When you've purchased the Platinum Ticket, exit Rodin's and you'll be taken to the Chapter Select menu. Here you'll see the Platinum Ticket now pinned to the wall and the Devil's Duel available to play.

When you start the Devil's Duel, you can take it on as either Bayonetta, Viola or Jeanne. When you enter the area, you'll be faced with a battle against Rodin, which is an incredibly difficult fight, and to top it off, item use is prohibited, so a Red Hot Shot won't be able to be used in it and instantly revive you.

How to Beat Rodin

Taking on the fight against Rodin can prove to be quite the challenge. There are lots of viable Infernal Demons, Weapons and techniques you can use, but here's what worked for us:

Preparing for the Fight

Firstly, we choose to play as Jeanne, allowing us to make use of the dodging ability without breaks. Witch Time activates for Jeanne the same way it does for Bayonetta, and our strategy makes the most of Witch Time as much as possible.

As for Accessories, we equipped the Earring of Time that you get from Phenomenal Remnant Chapter 13 to extend the use of Witch Time as well as Conqueror's Reins to stop our summons from being enraged. If you decide not to use summons, then we'd recommend the Star of Dineta, which will allow you to recover health by pressing down and taunting. Use this during Witch Time, as the safest way to recover health.

Note: If you use Infernal Demons in this fight, they'll become enraged almost immediately sometimes, so we highly recommend the Conqueror's Reins in this case.

You want to assign your Infernal Demons. The ones we used were Baal and Alraune. Alraune is unlocked by completing Phenomenal Remnant Chapter 3. You'll want to make use of the Song of Baal ability that creates poison rain by repeatedly pressing R. Try to completely upgrade this ability to Toxicity II. For Alraune, you'll want to use the Sweet Nothings ability that spews pollen at enemies, draining them of their vitality and restoring yours. This can be done by pressing Y and moving the left stick up and down.

In terms of Weapons, you'll want to have the All 4 One and Dead End Express equipped. In the first phase of the fight, use the All 4 One guns, but when Rodin transforms into the Devil, you'll want to switch to Dead End Express.

Phase One

During this phase, you should concentrate on dodging Rodin's attacks continuously. The idea is to activate Witch Time as much as you can, then spam R to start Baal's Song of Baal. This will usually take three triggers of Witch Time, to get to the climax of the song, where poison rain will come down. We tried various different summons and with Baal's Song of Baal, an entire health bar can be wiped out in one attack.

While the poison rain is coming down, if you activate Witch Time again, press X repeatedly to unleash a flurry of fists and knock Rodin's health bar down by half. This should mean that each round of attacks will take his health down by 1.5 bars. Repeat this process until you take 4 diamonds out of the health bar and Rodin will transform into the devil.

During this time, if you are accidentally hit, use Alraune and press Y to drain Rodin's vitality and restore your own. If you've chosen to use the Star of Dineta, then you can also use this to replenish some of your health. However, for the second phase, you'll find that you just need a small amount of health if you can dodge the attacks successfully.

Phase Two

Phase Two is when you want to swap to Dead End Express. Rodin will use two different types of magnetic attacks in this phase - one purple and one where an orange vortex appears and drags you in. When these moves begin, double press B to jump and dash away from the attack. Then you simply want to repeat the process you used in Phase One of using Baal's poison rain, adding in the dash whenever the magnet attacks appear.

If Rodin grabs you in this phase or gets you with the purple magnetic attack, it doesn't matter if you have full health, he'll wipe it out to almost zero. If this happens, use Alraune straight after to replenish just a bit of health. You'll find that even with low health if he grabs you or drags you in, you'll still survive and be able to continue the fight.

When his health is down to around 2 diamonds, you should have charged up enough to perform your Demon Masquerade attack. We'd recommend leaving this until you're on the final health bar and unleashing it as your finishing move

After You've Beat Rodin

When you've taken Rodin down, you'll unlock:

  • a new weapon called Rodin
  • a new Infernal Demon called Devil Rodin.

What Happens If You Don't Beat Rodin?

If you can't finish the fight or simply don't want to, you can still get your hands on the Rodin Weapon and Devil Rodin Infernal Demon. You have to lose to Rodin a significant number of times, but when you do, a notification will pop up that says Rodin is now available in the shop.

This also costs 999,999 Seeds so it's back to grinding if you choose this method.
