Questions and Answers - What is a material with a freezing point above 0 degrees Celsius? (2024)

What is a material with a freezing point above 0 degrees Celsius?

A material exists as a solid when it is below its freezing point. So, we need to find a material that is a solid at some temperature above 0°C. Almost any solid abject around you would fit this description - an aluminum soda can, a candle or a piece of chocolate all have freezing points above 0°C.

Keep in mind that a material's freezing point is the same as its melting point. These are just different terms for the same thing, it just depends on whether energy is going into a substance (melting) or if energy is being removed from a substance (freezing).
