The Rays aren't saying who will start Thursday's game in Boston, leaving it as "TBA" for now as a point of gamesmanship, though manager Kevin Cash was kind enough to explain the difference between TBA and TBD on Sunday. "Not quite yet," Cash said about Thursday, which could be RHPs Jake Odorizzi or Erasmo Ramirez. "We know, but we're not telling anybody. I figured out that TBA is "to be announced,' which means we know; TBD means "to be determined,' we haven't determined it yet. So we're TBA."
Back-to-back crowd
After drawing a crowd of 30,451 Saturday for Kevin Kiermaier bobblehead night, the Rays drew 21,810 Sunday — with Kiermaier gloves as a promotion. The combined 52,261 in back-to-back games is a mark the Rays matched only twice all of last season, both when the Mets made a rare three-game appearance at Tropicana Field in August.
