Is it OK to wear a traded players jersey? ›

At the end of the day, if a player is traded, it's not usually his fault. As such, in most cases you can continue wearing his jersey for as long as you'd like, especially if he put significant time in for your favorite ballclub.

It is a mostly unwritten rule that you're not supposed to wear the logo of a team you don't root for. If you're wearing something with a Buffalo Bills or Colorado Avalanche or Minnesota Twins logo on it, you're announcing yourself to be a fan of that team.

Wear it casually.

That basically means with sneakers. We love a high-low mix, but a soccer jersey with a pair of pressed pants and loafers is just weird. Jerseys go best with jeans and your cleanest white kicks (this isn't a time for to bust out your new Yeezys).

Wear a shirt under your jersey to avoid being too revealing.

Because basketball jerseys can be relatively revealing, wear a tee shirt underneath them to adhere to public etiquette. In warm weather or at the beach, basketball jerseys can also acceptably be worn as tank tops.

Is Grabbing a Jersey Holding? Grabbing a jersey can fall under two penalties. The penalty depends on when and where an offensive player grabs the jersey. If the two players stand face to face and the offensive player grabs the jersey, this can be called a holding penalty.

Choose the right color

Blue jeans look great with many soccer jersey colors. However, if you are ready to put in a bit of extra effort, then here are some suggestions. Bright colors tend to go well with more muted accents, so if you're planning on wearing a yellow jersey, black or gray might be best.
