Your SAE should be something that you WANT to do and that you will LEARN something from! Our goal is to relate your future career interests to this project and for you to acquire some hands-on skills that will get you a job one day.
What should I do for my SAE?

Create a lesson plan and hands-on activities about your favorite unit in Animal Science or Horticulture, and teach it to younger students in your family, church, neighborhood, or community organization
Become a foster home for an animal in need through your local animal shelter, or just go volunteer at the shelter
Grow your own garden at home or help with/start a community garden
Grow your own fruits, vegetables, and herbs, and then use them in recipes
Volunteer at a local garden center, pet store, or farm
Organize a litter clean up

Visit a farmersmarket inNew BernorBeaufortorMorehead City- purchase local products, ask questions to local farmers (be polite and speak intelligently)
