Tek Creatures are a variant of normal Creatures that were added permanently as part of the Extinction Chronicles event (exceptions being the Tek Triceratops, which was released as part of Genesis, the Voidwyrm, which was released as part of Genesis: Part 2 and the Tek Giganotosaurus which is unobtainable unless using Console commands). Tek Creatures spawn at a 20% higher level, i.e. on difficulty 5 (max level 150) they will spawn up to level 180. They have a chance of 5% to spawn instead of their normal counterpart. Tek Creatures can only mate with other Tek Creatures and cannot mate with normal Creatures.
Although a max level of 180 (only 30 levels higher than the max level of 150 of the normal wild counterparts) may not seem like much of a difference initially, if you are lucky enough to find one, it is always a good idea to tame such a Tek Creature. If you manage to complete the taming process at maximum efficiency, the level boost can result in a tame that is roughly 269 in level. If the bonus levels are as evenly distributed as possible, the tamed Tek Creature can have all of its base levels in each stat in the low 50's: a level average that often requires extensive super-breeding efforts in their normal counterparts to achieve.
Tek Creatures are the only types of their creature counterparts that will spawn in the Lunar biome of Genesis, making this a useful area to farm them as tames.
Primal Tek Dinos are craftable tek dinos with special abilities and traits. These should be thought of as machines, not living, breathing ogranisms. As such, they are genderless and do not breed. But they also dont require food, or use stamina or oxygen.
If you don't have a chainsaw, use a pickaxe or sword on tel dinos. You can mass breed Tek Dino's if your rates are high, then cull the baby's when their adult for maximum electronics and oil.
The Tek Giganotosaurus is an unused creature that was added to the game with the release of the Genesis Part 1 DLC, and serves as a template for its mission variants. It is a unique alternate of the original Giganotosaurus, purely made of Tek.
Tek rexes and normal rexes are exactly the same when it comes to stats. The biggest difference is that Tek Rexes (and tek dinos in general) have higher level caps. In a sense, Tek Rexes are more likely to be stronger than normal rexes due to higher level cap.
