Turn off automatic highlighting (2024)

How do we turn off the automatic highlighting when scrolling through the vendor lists / transactions? If the column is too narrow, QB highlights the text to show all of it. But that prevents scrolling from working which is incredibly annoying. I have my columns sized as I need them and I don't need QB to stop me from working to tell me what I already see. An example is attached.

Hi @GalinMcMahon,

Thank you for the screenshot you included in your post.

You can disable this feature in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). Here's how:

1. Go to theEditmenu.
2. SelectPreferences.
3. ClickGeneral.
4. Under theMy Preferencestab, remove the check on theShow ToolTips for clipped textbox.
5. PressOK.

At this point, you'll no longer have any pop-ups that stop you from scrolling down a list.
