Course Description

The U.S. Center for SafeSport Core Course provides important training about the nature of misconduct in sport and gives you actionable information to better protect athletes. USA Gymnastics University will issue course credit for completion of the course. Adult (18 years and older) members must take the course as a condition of membership. Additionally, any adult in a member club who has regular contact with or authority over minors also must complete the U110 course annually. Please note, this course is offered complimentary to all who are required to complete the course.

Online Course Registration

  • Click the red Register for the Course button
  • You must be logged in. (username and personal password—which you created).
  • Once selected you will automatically be registered for all parts of the course.
  • You will be registered automatically for the applicable course for your membership.
  • For 17-Year Old Members:
    Parents/guardians can follow the steps below to grant permission for their child:
    • Login to usagym.org with your parent username and password.
    • Click on your name next to "You are logged in as" to access your Profile page.
    • On your My Profile page, click the child’s name under Children.
    • On the bottom blue toolbar click "U110: Permission Required".
    • Check the box to give consent to the terms of the agreement.
    • The minor can then login with their username and password to register for and complete the course. If the minor has not created a login to access their profile, they are able to do so using the following steps: *Please note a minor must have an email on file to create a profile. To add or edit this from your parent profile, click on the minor's name under children then edit next to Personal Information.
      • Go to members.usagym.org and login.
      • Select "Click Here to Register" on the left side of the User Login popup.
      • Enter the minor member number next to Individual Member Number and validate your information.
      • Follow the prompts to complete your profile registration.
      • Once logged in, return to this page to register for the U110 course.

Who is required to complete the U110: U.S. Center for SafeSport Course?
All adult (18 years and older) members must take the course as a condition of membership. Additionally, any adult in a member club who has regular contact with or authority over minors also must complete the U110 course.

Is there an exception when an athlete may not have to complete the course?
Survivors of abuse may receive an exemption from this education and training policy. Requests for an exemption may be made directly to the U.S. Center for SafeSport at exemptions@safesport.org, and will be addressed on a case-by-case basis. Any other waiver request may be sent to usagymsafesport@usagym.org.

If you are not a member of or associated with an NGB, the U.S. Center for SafeSport comprehensive online training course is 90 minutes long and costs $20 per person. The course can be accessed here. If you are a parent looking for resources on keeping your athlete(s) safe, you can access the Parent Training at no cost.
