What is Chelsea's biggest victory of all time? (2024)

There have been some epic results for Chelsea throughout their rich and illustrious history, but what is the club’s biggest victory of all time?

Here are the top 11 most towering conquests for the Blues.

1: Chelsea 13 – 0 Jeunesse Hautcharage, European Cup Winners’ Cup, 29/09/1971

13 is unlucky for some, but certainly not for Chelsea when they totally obliterated Luxembourg amateur side, Jeunesse Hautcharage, in the European Cup Winners’ Cup.

2: Chelsea 9-1 Worksop Town, FA Cup, 11/01/1908

The Blues love affair with the FA Cup began way back in 1908, smashing nine past Worksop Town, with George Hildson scoring six of them.

3: Chelsea 9-2 Glossop North End, Division Two, 01/09/1906

There was a time when Chelsea weren’t playing in the top flight.

However, they will have fond memories of this demolition of Glossop North End during their Division Two days.

9-2 remains the club’s largest league victory to this day.

4: Chelsea 8-0 Wigan Athletic, Premier League, 09/05/2010

This iconic afternoon at Stamford Bridge will be remembered for many reasons.

It is still Chelsea’s record Premier League win, plus it was the three points that sealed the title for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

5: Chelsea 8-0 Aston Villa, Premier League, 23/12/2012

Same score line, different victim.

Aston Villa were completely overpowered by Rafa Benitez’s boys in blue, as Frank Lampard marked his 500th Premier League start with a goal.

6: Jeunesse Hautcharage 0-8 Chelsea, European Cup Winners’ Cup, 15/09/1971

Hautcharage must’ve felt sick to the stomach about seeing Chelsea again.

That 13-0 rollocking was proceeded by this 8-0 thrashing, leaving an aggerate score of 21-0 in favour of the Blues.

7: Chelsea 7-0 Stoke City, Premier League, 25/04/2010

Ancelotti’s awesome attackers where at it again, this time against Stoke City.

A Salmon Kalou hattrick, accompanied by a couple from Lampard, sent Chelsea back to top of the table.

8: Doncaster Rovers 0-7 Chelsea, League Cup, 16/11/1960

Not a lot has been written about this result, yet it stands as the Blues record League Cup truimph.

It was also one of the few games that Jimmy Greaves didn’t manage to score that season. He ended 1960/61 with 43 goals in all competitions, a return that hasn’t been bettered by a Chelsea player.

9: Chelsea 7-0 Ipswich Town, FA Cup, 09/01/2011

A pair of braces from Lampard and Daniel Sturridge ensured Chelsea began their FA Cup defence in destructive fashion.

Unfortunately, they were knocked out in the next round by Everton.

10: Chelsea 7-1 Aston Villa, Premier League, 27/03/2010

Another epic haul under Ancelotti’s stewardship.

Chelsea shipped seven past Villa, with Lampard moving up to third in Chelsea’s all-time top scorers list.

11: Chelsea 6-0 Maribor, Champions League, 21/10/2014

There have been numerous 6-0 victories in favour of Chelsea, but this endures as their joint biggest Champions League scalp to date.

Didier Drogba scored his first goal since re-joining the Blues, two years after winning the tournament in Munich.
