Many in Albuquerque have wondered why New Mexico has been left out when it comes to pro sports. In short, the state doesn’t qualify for representation in the NFL, NBA, or MLB. Geographically, New Mexico doesn’t seem as significant as its neighboring states, and the population isn’t high enough to generate sufficient revenue.
