What are unique words on Words With Friends? ›

In Words with Friends (and Scrabble), OXYPHENBUTAZONE is generally the highest scoring single word. If you collaborate with a friend, you can set the board up to play this word for 1670 points (possibly more if you use different words elsewhere on the board).

Unique words come in all shapes and forms. You have the words with unexpected spellings, words that sound strange, and words that accurately describe a moment or a feeling.

Sometimes, a cheater will be in a great position to play words on the score multipliers, “walking” around the game board to reach them. This can lead to the cheater having a string of double and triple word scores in a row.

In contrast, tricky words are difficult to spell or pronounce, or they have multiple meanings that can lead to confusion. Their irregular spellings tend to differ from the usual patterns of language. Some examples of tricky words are: colonel, rhythm, queue, choir, and accommodate.

Bonus squares

TL (triple letter): The points for the tile placed on this square is tripled. DW (double word): The points for the word that crosses this square is doubled. TW (triple word): The points for the word that crosses this square is tripled.

The game could also end if three successive turns have occurred with no scoring and as long as the score is not zero-zero. An example of this is when you pass your turn then your opponent also passes. If you again pass then the game is over. This does not count as a resignation.
