Leather will become more flexible when wet, but typically will only shrink if you also apply heat. To shrink leather gloves in water, you'll need to use warm water or apply dry heat once the gloves are already wet (i.e., by putting them in the dryer or blow-drying them on a warm setting).
Your gloves should fit snug but not constricting, and should cover the end of your fingertips without much extra room. A leather glove should fit your hand like a leather jacket fits your body—snug, but not super tight.
The easiest and most reliable way you can stretch and conform your leather gloves to fit your hand is by actually wearing them. You can also use a glove stretching tool. If you are still unable to wear your gloves, consider applying more stretching solution or re-soaking your gloves in lukewarm water for another cycle.
If the glove material is stretched beyond its capabilities, it could tear or rip easily when in use. Hand protection that is too large may literally be pulled off.

You can machine dry the gloves using a cool dryer temperature but it is best drip dry or lay them flat to dry. Note: Cotton gloves will shrink if washed in hot water or dried using a hot temperature.
