How much is my bank note worth?
Most circulated Federal Reserve Notes from more modern series are worth no more than face value. Some of the early series notes (1928 and 1934) do carry a small premium, although for circulated notes this premium is small, usually 10% to 30%.
“Oddities that can make currency more valuable include currency that was never circulated, printing mishaps, bills with a serial number consisting of the same digit repeated and high-denomination bills that are no longer printed — $500 and above,” said Todd Stearn, founder and CEO of The Money Manual.
Most $2 bills in circulation are worth exactly that: $2. And even though you don't see a lot of $2 bills in everyday life, they are still being printed. The Treasury Department's Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) planned to print up to 204 million $2 bills in 2022, CNN reported.
Like most collectables, the value of banknotes is directly linked to condition, grade, rarity and desirability. Flawless uncirculated banknotes are usually worth more than their circulated counterparts. Well-centred notes also tend to be of greater value, due to their greater desirability among collectors.

The 1976 $2 in about uncirculated condition would sell for $2 to $3. Easily available note. The 1957 silver certificate in more circulated condition sells for $3 to $5.

The serial number is the six numbers that follow the cypher refers to the sheet that the note is printed on. For example, there are 60 polymer £5 banknotes on each sheet and the first run had the cypher AA01 to AA60. There are just under a million serial numbers printed for each cypher - from 000001 to 999000.
In circulated condition, a non-star bill will be worth only its face value. If it has an interesting error or a fancy serial number, however, it could be worth more. And collectors are also interested in bundles of notes with consecutive serial numbers. Star notes are less common, so are more valuable.

According to the USCA, if the bill was minted and printed before 1976, it could actually be worth its highest value – as much as $4,500 or more for uncirculated notes from 1890.
A bill is always worth at least the face value, so any 10-dollar bill is worth at least $10. Large notes and older bills are worth the most, however. Many pre-1915 bills are worth at least $200 in any reasonable condition.
The serial number is the big one. It's printed on the left and right sides of the front of the bill, typically with a letter at the front. “What we look at is fancy serial numbers,” Johnston said. “A serial number '1' for a 1976 $2 bill would be worth $20,000 or more.
Unless it has a unique feature, like a low serial number or misprint, a newer $2 bill likely isn't worth much more than $2, even if it's uncirculated.

The USA 1890 $100 Treasury Note, also known as the “Watermelon Note,” is the most valuable paper currency in the United States. Its extreme rarity and unique design make it a highly sought-after item among collectors of rare paper currency.
Typically a 1953 red seal in this condition would be worth $5-10. However due to being a star note, I would value it around $15-25. You probably know this, but star notes were issued to replace bills that were damaged in production.
$1,000 Bill: Grover Cleveland
President Grover Cleveland's face appears on the $1,000 bill, which like the $500 bill dates to 1918. Hamilton's face initially appeared on the denomination. The Fed and Treasury discontinued the $1,000 bill in 1969.
Who is on the $5 dollar bill?

Significant Dates: Serial numbers that correspond to significant historical dates or anniversaries, especially if they relate to the figure on the banknote.
