What am I not allowed to bring on a ferry?

We get that question a lot; humans can be very curious, especially when it comes to how quickly you'll get to your destination. Hy-Line's fast ferries can go at speeds of up to 34mph, which if you're talking in proper seafaring terminology is 30 knots an hour (1 knot = 1.151 mph)!
Passenger security
This means that routine security checks on passengers, luggage and vehicles are likely to occur. To be able to enter the ferry, all passengers should be able to present a valid photo ID upon boarding, such as passports or international ID cards with a photograph.
In general, however, most ferry crossings require a valid passport or other recognized travel documents, such as a visa or identity card, especially for non-citizens. For citizens of the European Union and the Schengen area, an ID card may suffice for travel within the region.
Alcohol cannot be brought onboard for consumption. A great selection of alcoholic drinks can be purchased in our outlets onboard. You can, of course, travel with alcholic beverages in your luggage or vehicle.
In summary, if you bring snacks that are not meat, dairy or plant-based at all, you should be okay to carry them on board if they are for personal consumption. Checks can be made at EU entry points to see people are not carrying anything which is not allowed.

Is there a toilet on the ferry?

Eat and drink sensibly. To ensure that you sleep well on a ferry, try not to drink caffeine in the hours leading up to bedtime. Caffeinated drinks make it difficult to relax and will make you feel energised when you should be unwinding, so opt for a decaf alternative instead.

A reserved lounge seat gives you a dedicated spot to relax in on board. You can get settled in by purchasing a sleep pack with blanket, pillow, eye mask and ear plugs to get some shut-eye.
On North Sea routes, missing the latest check-in time, without prior notification to our Contact Centre, will result in your booked sailing being cancelled, and will require the purchase of a new ticket for that portion of your journey if necessary.
Find a seat in the middle of the ferry, also the lower you are the better. So stay low (not the upper deck) and sit in the middle. Window seats tend to be better ( a tip that might collide with the seat in the middle of the ferry) but if you keep your eyes on the horizon.
On average, disembarkation is complete within 30 minutes, but this can take longer.
Take some absorbent bedding to help him/her feel comfortable whether left in your vehicle or taken to an on board kennel. As your dog is highly unlikely to be able to leave the vehicle once sailing, this can help if your dog has any accidents during the journey.
Camping on all Galveston beaches is prohibited from 12am-5am. Additionally, there is no overnight parking allowed on Seawall Blvd. The only designated place to camp on Galveston Island is at the Galveston Island State Park. Sediment Turnover
Other waters such as the waters of Florida have a sea flora on the floor of the ocean which traps the sediment and makes the clean blue water appear. However, Galveston water is mostly shallow causing the sand and sediment turnover to be relatively high. This causes the non-see-through brown water.
Campsites with Electricity (Beachside | Tent Only)
These sites have platforms for tents. Parking is nearby; vehicles are not allowed at the tent platform site. Sleeping in vehicles or campers in the parking lot is not allowed.
