What's Thor's axe called?
In Infinity War, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) — accompanied by Groot and Rocket — travels to Nidavellir, where a new weapon is forged for him: an ax called Stormbreaker. The weapon comes courtesy of Eitri (Peter Dinklage), and it allows him to return to Earth just in time to help his friends in a battle in Wakanda.
Avengers: Infinity War introduced audiences to a brand-new weapon for the God of Thunder: an axe-hammer called Stormbreaker. Stormbreaker replaced Mjolnir upon the hammer's destruction in Thor: Ragnarok, and since Infinity War, it has been his weapon of choice.
Conversation. Fun discovery at today's #AvengersEndgame junket: there are Elvish runes on Stormbreaker that read "Strength," "Valor," "Divine," and "Power."
The ax could also summon the Bifrost and teleport Thor and his friends across the universe. It was sharp enough to impale Thanos and decapitate him as well as powerful enough to deflect a direct blast from the Infinity Stones.
In the many incarnations of the hero, his hammer, helmet, and cape are iconic and almost always present. This is also the case with some form of chest armor (with those huge round button things), and sometimes arm guards or gauntlets.
But when it comes to the weapon's replacement, Stormbreaker – which Thor forges in Avengers: Infinity War – Groot is able to lift it too. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo explained the mechanics of the hammer/axe thingamajig in a Twitter Q&A.
Captain America
Cap is one of the few mortals able to not only lift Mjolnir but wield its full power, making him someone who can beat Thor. Assuming the reason for their battle is because Thor is possessed or tricked, Cap would be able to use Mjolnir against him.
The correct answer is, Stormbreaker and IG are equally strong - both are forged out of Uru. Stormbreaker was able to 'beat the combined powers of the Infinity Stones' because the axe is made of Uru, which is a material that absorbs magic powers.
The axe is so powerful that it was even able to quickly slice through and overpower the beam from all six Infinity Stones unleashed by Thanos, although he was caught off-guard and could have repelled the attack by other means. It is also capable of healing severe wounds, as shown by it fully healing a sun-damaged Thor.
Thor had the element of surprise and a weapon capable of overpowering even the Infinity Gauntlet. Stormbreaker powered through the gauntlet's energy beam but left Thanos alive long enough to succeed, making his victory in Avengers: Infinity War all the more devastating.
Can Thanos lift Stormbreaker?
Many viewers have pointed out that Thanos was able to lift Stormbreaker without a problem, but this is because the ax isn't enchanted as Mjolnir is. Others believe Thanos lifted Mjolnir (although briefly) and have even argued that he would be worthy of doing so.
While audiences had to pick their jaws off the floor, Thor uttered the iconic line that seemed to speak for everyone: "I knew it!" Not only was this line both funny and relatable, but it was a good connection to the scene from Avengers: Age of Ultron when Mjolnir slightly moves when Steve tries to lift it.

The hammer Stormbreaker is very similar to Mjolnir, made of mystic Uru metal and is nearly indestructible. Worthiness: Just like the original Mjolnir, no one can lift Stormbreaker who is not worthy.
And Mathaudhu can cite documentary sources to back him up. For example, Marvel – which publishes the Thor comics – issued a “Thor's Hammer” trading card in 1991 that states Mjolnir is made of Uru and weighs precisely 42.3 pounds. That's lighter than a herd of 300 billion mice, much less a herd of 300 billion elephants.
Thor is bulletproof in the comics. So really, absolutely nothing unless those bullets happens to be made of vibranium or pure adamantium.
Absolutely yes. In fact, there are quite a few misconceptions about Thor's abilities. Even Thor himself was unaware in Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok film.
For unexplained reasons, Thor remains the only one able to lift the hammer in this universe despite Odin never shown enchanting it with the "worthy" spell. Mjolnir returns in Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) with Jane Foster wielding a reconstructed version of the hammer.
Avengers: Age Of Ultron Confirmed Iron Man Wasn't Worthy
Tony Stark was the second one to try, even joking about ruling Asgard if he lifted the hammer and what he would do as king, but his always overly-confident attitude quickly changed when he realized he couldn't lift the hammer.

Who built Thor's axe?
Eitri is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Eitri is a Dwarf who lives on Svartalfheim and is the King of the Dwarves. He is a weapons forger and is notable for being the one who created Mjolnir for the Norse God Thor.
5/10 Would Demolish Him: Thor
He might be able to slow him down, but Thor's sheer might, combined with the power of Mjolnir, would be too much for Venom to handle. Venom is tough but Thor is tougher.
Zeus. It should come as no surprise that, in a one-on-one battle of Zeus vs Thor, Zeus would easily triumph.
MCU Theory Suggests Thor Is The Only One Who Can Defeat Scarlet Witch. Thor could somewhat easily beat Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, in a fight, and this is exactly how he would do it.
Thor was physically capable to do the first snap in Avengers: Endgame after the time heist, but Tony Stark was adamant in not allowing him — why? Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.)
Iron Man just wielded Thor's trusted hammer Mjolnir and made the bold decision to hit the God of Thunder with his iconic weapon. Warning! Spoilers for Thor #8 below!
Energy. When it comes to using their innate power, no doubt Captain Marvel will win over Thor. She can easily absorb all thunder attacks that Thor channels at her in a fight. On the other hand, Thor may have a difficult time countering her powerful photon blasts.
Thor: 3,500 lb.
Thor can use the axe to change the weather, summon lightning, and use it as a weapon. Just like Mjolnir, Stormbreaker allows Thor to fly at super speeds and summon it with his hand.
Thor can lift well over 100 tons with no difficulty, he is in the so-called Class-100 strength category. This means he is in the same strength category as the Hulk, but we have seen in Thor: Ragnarok that Thor can catapult the Hulk to the other side of the room with ease.
Who can beat whole Avengers?
1/10 Thanos Wins
The Avengers are tough but up against Thanos, they'd have no chance. Thanos's power, cunning, and years of experience have allowed him to outsmart and defeat some of the most powerful beings in the universe.
The polished fighting style of Thanos proved too much for Hulk and his overall brutality and savagery. Hulk had the upper hand for all of two seconds due to the element of surprise before Thanos was able to finish the fight with a few quick blows.
Thanos has faced some powerful foes but never anything like Orion. Orion has Thanos beat in most categories and never stops coming. Thanos may be smarter but Orion would overwhelm him. Anyone who can beat Darkseid by themselves can take Thanos, so Orion has this one in the bag.
Odin in the MCU's universe is stronger than Thanos. He defeated, or could defeat, many, many enemies who could possibly defeat Thanos. Like Surtur. Pre-Awakened Thor was weaker than Odin.
The destruction of Thor's hammer Mjolnir is one of the most striking moments in the MCU to date. Thor, who is used to considering his weapon invincible, throws it at Hela without a second thought. To his horror, Hela actually catches Mjolnir in her outstretched arm, and shatters it with ease.
Hulk just discovered an all-new way to lift Mjolnir, as the Jade Giant moves Thor's hammer despite not being worthy of the powerful weapon. The Hulk might not be worthy of Mjolnir, but in his latest battle against Thor, he just found a way to move the God of Thunder's hammer.

SPOILER WARNING for The Unworthy Thor #5
"Gorr was right." Three simple words that undid the God of Thunder. Those words go all the way back to Thor: God of Thunder, where Gorr the God Butcher, who committed countless acts of deicide, declares all gods were unworthy.
Thor Odinson, more commonly known as Thor, and sometimes by his title as the God of Thunder, is a fictional character portrayed by Chris Hemsworth in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) media franchise, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name and the Norse mythological god of the same name.
There are six Infinity Stones: The Space Stone (blue), the Reality Stone (red), the Power Stone (purple), the Mind Stone (yellow), the Time Stone (green) and the Soul Stone (orange).
Who can handle all 6 Infinity Stones?
Gamora. In last summer's Infinity Wars event, Gamora collected all six Infinity Stones and used them to fold the universe in half, collapsing Marvel heroes in to mashups of themselves like Iron Hammer and Ghost Panther, and she did it all without ever requiring a gauntlet.
The first Infinity Stone we're introduced to is also the one that appears most frequently: The Space Stone, once contained in a device called the Tesseract, plays a key role in The First Avenger, Captain Marvel, and The Avengers, while making cameos in a few other movies.
Once Groot found a use for the star's energy (lifting the axe to create a handle) the energy would leave his system. So yes, he was worthy, for a time.
Groot is a Flora colossus from Planet X, the capital of the branch worlds. The Flora colossi are tree-like beings whose language is almost impossible to understand due to the stiffness of their larynxes, causing their speech to sound like they are repeating the phrase "I am Groot".
Who Plays Love? Gorr's daughter is played by India Rose Hemsworth, the daughter of Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, and actress Elsa Pataky. Hemsworth has talked about how his children are in the movie, saying "...Taika had his children in there. Christian Bale had his.
So, there you have it: yes, Superman is capable of wielding Mjolnir, although he was only seen to have done so on an emergency basis — and, in fact, it appears that Wonder Woman is more unconditionally worthy of the weapon than he.
Both Storm and Thor have weather-manipulating abilities, but Thor has other powers, such as near indestructibility and superhuman strength. He is also the god of Thunder, so he has more control over lightning and storms than Storm does. Thor takes the win 9/10 times.
In the Marvel Universe, Thor has emerged as the true strongest there is, and has proven to be a cut above the Hulk. Of course, all of this could change in the hands of another story (and writer), but for the time being, Thor has truly earned his reputation as one of the mightiest heroes of the Marvel Universe.
The hammer Stormbreaker is very similar to Mjolnir, made of mystic Uru metal and is nearly indestructible. Worthiness: Just like the original Mjolnir, no one can lift Stormbreaker who is not worthy.
In the MCU, Stormbreaker and Mjolnir look completely different; Mjolnir is a square hammer, and Stormbreaker is an axe with a hammer-ish end. In the comics, however, the original Stormbreaker is a rounded mallet, and much smaller than the movie version.
What is Thor's Gauntlet called?
In Norse mythology, Járngreipr (Old Norse: [ˈjɑːrnˌɡrɛipz̠], "iron grippers") or Járnglófar ([ˈjɑːrnˌɡloːvɑz̠], "iron gauntlets") are the iron gloves of the god Thor. According to the Prose Edda, along with the hammer Mjölnir and the belt Megingjörð, Járngreipr is one of Thor's three crucial possessions.
No, it was absolutely a hammer. Old Norse has different words for “hammer” and “axe” - they consistently used the former and not the latter. Plus, “smasher” would be an odd name for an axe. Depictions of Thor appear in Nordic stone carvings by 1.800BC, after the Bronze Age Battle Axe and Boat culture.
Nope, it is not 'heavy' like no one in the world can lift it 'heavy'. Marvel issued a “Thor's Hammer” trading card in 1991 that states that Mjolnir weighs 42.3 pounds.
For unexplained reasons, Thor remains the only one able to lift the hammer in this universe despite Odin never shown enchanting it with the "worthy" spell. Mjolnir returns in Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) with Jane Foster wielding a reconstructed version of the hammer.
Zeus. It should come as no surprise that, in a one-on-one battle of Zeus vs Thor, Zeus would easily triumph.
The Infinity Gems (previously known as "Soul Gems") are some of the most powerful artifacts in the Universe. Each one allows its owner extreme control over one aspect of the universe: time, space, reality, mind, power, and soul. When all six are directly wielded together, nothing is impossible for their bearer.
The Double-Edged Sword was a double-bladed weapon used by Thanos.
The Thor's Hammer or Hammer of Thor is an ancient Norse symbol. In Norse mythology, Thor is the god of thunder and his hammer (called Mjölnir) has the power of lightning.
