The Pistons on Friday made a trade, acquiring Nets swingman Joe Harris and two future second-round picks, the Free Press confirmed through a league source. The picks are via Dallas in 2027 and Milwaukee in 2029.
1. Pistons trade for Bill Laimbeer. In February of 1982, the Detroit Pistons made the best trade in the history of the franchise. The Pistons traded Paul Mokeski, Phil Hubbard, and two draft picks to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Bill Laimbeer and Kenny Carr.

The Pistons signed Hill to a seven-year, $92.8 million contract and traded him to Orlando for Chucky Atkins and Ben Wallace. The Magic hoped he would team up with budding superstar Tracy McGrady, who had been signed away from the Toronto Raptors at that time, to return Orlando among the NBA elite.
The Detroit Pistons added two more first-round picks in Thursday night's 2023 NBA draft. Ausar Thompson and Marcus Sasser, whom the team traded up for, became the seventh and eighth first-rounders selected by Troy Weaver over his four drafts as Pistons general manager.
