This Genshin Impact guide contains information on how to defeat the boss, Anemo Hypostasis located in Mondstadt. The Anemo Hypostasis is the Anemo version of the hypostases that exists throughout the overworld. In addition, this guide will also provide several tips and tricks that will help you take down the Anemo Hypostasis, as well as the rewards on offer.

The enemy itself lies inside the square armor it uses to fend off assailants. Like a Storm Eye, all you need to do is find the right time to strike. Just don't get caught out by its attacks or let its elements linger in the air too long and you'll eventually beat the breeze down.

The Anemo Hypostasis can be found in the northern reaches of Mondstadt, sitting in the center of an obvious arena. You can enter the ring without starting a fight, but get too close and you'll have to decide whether to stand and fight, or take off in a hurry.

This menacing cube is nothing more than a squarish Storm’s Eye. It’s basically impervious when encased, making it a simple case of wait and see. It doesn’t really have phases, instead just going through the motions until you get it to low HP, at which point you’ll just want to pick up its Anemo Orbs to prevent it from healing.

The trick to defeating Anemo Hypostasis is to make the most of the opening it creates with each series of attacks. It’ll sit there watching you when you instigate battle, immune to all damage because of the armor surrounding its core. Even though it looks like you could shoot your way through it with a bow, it won’t work.

After a few seconds, Anemo Hypostasis will make a move. It has a fair few number of attacks, and leaves itself open to damage with most. Figure out when to strike and when to run, and you shouldn't have too much trouble here. Beat it up as it cycles through these attacks, and you'll move into Phase 2 once it reaches 5% HP.

Crystalfly

If the boss takes on the shape of a large Crystalfly, expect it to buffet a spot beneath your character. Dodge away to avoid being knocked down. After this, the Anemo Hypostasis core will drop to the ground, leaving it wide-open to attack for about 10 seconds. Burst it down as best you can.

Clap

With rock walls outstretched like arms, Anemo Hypostasis will quickly slam them together, crushing anyone close ahead. Retreat to avoid this and rush back in when the core exposes itself. It won’t last long.

If Anemo Hypostasis zooms over to your spot and pushes its cubes out around it, it’s time to make a snap decision - stand and fight, or get out of the large circular wind circle it’ll use to pull you in.

The core is open to attack the entire time, but stay in the circle when it decides to stop pulling, and you’ll be slammed by a powerful Anemo attack. Ranged uses can deal damage without worry. You can squeeze a few more attacks in while it composes itself after the blow.

Tornado

This move acts as an intermission, with the boss flying high in the air and summoning a bunch of tornados that whirl around the area. They’re easy enough to dodge, and that’s exactly what you should focus on doing given the boss is completely immune throughout its duration.

Once it’s through, the core will drop to the ground. While you can deal some massive damage here, you’ll also want to take note of the Anemo orbs up in the air. Ride the gusts left behind and collect these from the sky to prevent it from entering its Shockwave state - or just burst it down to 5% HP if possible to force it into its final move.

Shockwave

Similar to Tornado, Anemo Hypostasis is immune during this attack. It’ll sit in the middle of the arena and use Anemo Orbs in the air to create shockwaves on the ground. Hop over these or ride the winds to easily dodge them. The phase will end on its own before long.

Second Wind

At 5% HP, Anemo Hypostasis will stop whatever it’s doing and become immune in the middle of the arena. At the same time, it’ll summon gusts of wind and a bunch on Anemo Orbs up in the air. If you take too long to ride the waves and pick these up, it will heal for around 10-15% per orb, returning to its usual cycle of attacks with a big chunk of HP like nothing happened.

Clear the lot and it’ll only heal for a small amount at the end of the phase. It’ll repeat this phase at 5% HP until there are no orbs left to take, so be sure to focus on ridding the skies of the green particles in the first instance.
