Another reason to avoid buying expensive clothing is the phenomenon of fast fashion. And what exactly is fast fashion, you might ask?

Fast fashion is the practice of producing inexpensive clothing quickly to keep up with the latest fashion trends. The fashion items are not made to last and generally poorly made, and it generates an enormous amount of textile waste.

Investing in expensive clothing items that only last a season or two doesn’t make sense in terms of long-term sustainability or personal finance.

Beyond just fast fashion, it’s not uncommon for expensive clothing items to have the same quality as cheaper alternatives.
