Whatever challenge you are facing, God is bigger. If you are crying out: God Help, then know that He is your helper.
Getting God to move in a desperate situation
There were people in the Bible who faced desperate situations, but came out of them with God’s help. My video study on the healing cases in Jesus’ ministry show how Jesus helped turn things around over and over for people.
Will God help me and turn it around?
God wants to help. Some need God’s help, but don’t know if He will do anything. My article concerning God’s Will shows His willingness. The leper who came to Jesus needed this issue answered and Jesus said, ‘I will’.
How can I get God’s Help?
God can and wants to turn your situation around. He wants to help you. The question is: How can I get God’s help? How can I get God to turn my situation around?
The Word of God shows us how and builds out faith. God responds to faith which has been built from His Word.
Crying out to God for Help
Many who need God’s help desperately cry out for Him to turn things around. However, crying out to God is not enough to get His help. If it was, more people would see God moving in their circ*mstances. Knowing how to ask God is vital. When people came to Jesus, He wanted to know if they believed. Crying our was not enough. They needed to believe.

Jesus turned things around
Many who came to Jesus faced desperate situations, even impossible challenges. They were right at the end of all hope when they came to Jesus and they walked away free.
Jesus turned things around for them and He will turn it around for you. You need to believe Him.
Impossible situations where Jesus helped
The Nobleman’s son was ‘at the point of death…’
John 4:47 When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and implored Him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.
The Centurion’s servant was ‘sick and ready to die..’
Luke 7:2 And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear to him, was sick and ready to die.
Jairus’ daughter was ‘…at the point of death…’ In fact, she died before Jesus arrived, but He raised her from the dead. Nothing is beyond God’s power.
Mark 5:23 and begged Him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live.”
At the darkest hour of this man’s life, when he received the news of his only daughter’s death, Jesus encouraged him to believe.
Only someone who knows things are not over could encourage like that. Most would simply sympathize with his loss, and try to comfort him, but Jesus knew it was not over. Faith had already been released when the man declared in verse 23, ‘come and lay your hands on her, that she may be healed…’ and Jesus was already on the task. Because the man believed, He received a miracle.
The Woman with issue of blood had spent all she had
Mark 5:25- 26 Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse.
People who spent many years in problems without help

- Man borne blind – John 9:130+ years
- Man at the Pool – John 3:538 years
- Cripple at the gate Beautiful – Acts 3:2, 4:2240 years
Despite many years of illness, Jesus set them all free. God turned it around for them and God can turn it around for you.
What can we learn from this?
That there is nothing that is past God being able to help. Nothing has gone ‘too far’.
When Lazarus was dead and in his tomb, Jesus came on the scene and said, ‘Take away the stone’ (John 11:39). He was declaring, ‘I am no through here yet!’. Then He raised Lazarus from the dead.
Often when we face challenges, we roll the stone of hopelessness and despair in front of the situation and give up all hope that it can change, but Jesus is saying to us, ‘Move that stone out the way, I can still do something’!
God can still turn it around
Do not give up hope. Do not think there is nothing that can be done. God can change anything and turn any situation around. Even when doctors have given up all hope and say there is nothing that they can do, Jesus still can.
He can do what is needed; He can do what is necessary. When we put our faith In Him, He can turn it around.
Put your Faith in Jesus
There is one vital lesson to learn from the ministry of Jesus:
When challenges come and we get desperate, it is not our desperation that gets God to move for us, it is our faith.
The man in John 4:46-54 was focused on the challenge. Jesus talked to him about believing and redirected his attention onto believing Jesus’ words.
The Father of the Epileptic boy in Mark 9:20-27 cried out to Jesus in desperation, but Jesus coached him to believe, redirecting his desperation into faith before helping him.
The two blind men cried out for mercy, then Jesus asked if they believed.
Desperation or Faith
Desperate circ*mstances make us cry out in desperation, but faith in God is what causes Him to move in the most impossible circ*mstances. You can learn more about faith here.
The world is full of desperate people whose circ*mstances are not changing, but the Bible tells us that faith is the victory that overcomes the world and all things are possible to him who believes. Faith is the key to bringing change to desperate circ*mstances, allowing God’s power to move in those circ*mstances
Mark 9:23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
1 John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world–our faith
No matter what you are facing, put your faith and confidence in God who can turn it around. Believe God.
Nothing is too hard or impossible for him. He can and will turn your situation around and bring you out on top, giving you the victory
Do not get discouraged, but realise that there is hope. Keep your eyes on God and His Word, put your trust in Him and believe that He can turn it around.
