Hockey Helmets
Itis recommended that you do an annual inspection of the helmet and replace itif you see signs of excessive wear, if the inside padding no longer providescushionor if there are any cracks in the shell. To avoid any issues please inspect your players helmet and make sure it is safe and legal.
All helmets (including Goalie) sold in Canada are to be CSA approved and will have a round blue and red CSA sticker on them. This sticker is normally on the back of the helmet although on some newer helmets it can be found on the inside embossed in the plastic. To be a legal helmet in Alliance Hockeythis CSA sticker must be present and it must be legible. It is recommended that you only purchase hockey helmets in Canada to ensure you have a CSA sticker on it. In Canada helmets do not expire.The HECC sticker that may also be present on the helmet has an expirydate that, once passed, will make the helmet illegal for use in the United States but NOT in Canada. The expiry date is 6 ½ years from date of manufacturing. It could be an issue for United States Hockey Tournaments and it is recommended that you check with the Hockey Tournament organizer.
OTHER STICKERS APPLIED TO HELMETS– It is the sole responsibility of the equipment user to ensure that they are not applying adhesives or other materials that may affect the integrity of the helmet and ultimately void the CSA certification and/or manufacturer’s warranty.
