The first stage of constructing a professional-level helmet starts with the mold. Elite goalies today expect perfectly-shaped helmets that are molded to the contours of their head. In order to achieve this level of customization, you can schedule an appointment with a mask manufacturer to get a personalized molding of your face. This, unsurprisingly, is not a budget-friendly thing to do.
Oh, and don’t forget that it takes a ton of time and hard work to construct a custom goalie mask. An average mask will take anywhere between 40 and 50 hours of labor, which of course will add on to the already high cost of the helmet.
