It's no secret that the late Queen Elizabeth II was an admirer of Arsenal FC. In fact, the Gunners were the only Premier League team that was invited to Buckingham Palace during her reign. It happened back in 2007, and the entire squad including the likes of Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas, and Theo Walcott were given a tour by her majesty. Fabregas actually claimed that the Queen told him personally that she was an Arsenal fan.
Despite the Queen's allegiances to the London club, King Charles chose not to follow in his mother's footsteps. Rather like his son Prince WIlliam, the recently crowned King supports a team that wears a claret jersey, but his allegiances don't lie with the same team. Charles is a huge Burnley fan and supposedly has a VIP season ticket for the Lancashire side.
Charles' loyalty to the Clarets remained unknown until 2012, when he admitted he was a big fan of the team whilst doing some charity work in the area close to the stadium. Back then, the team was attempting to fight its way out of the Championship, where it unfortunately returned at the end of last season after a respectable five consecutive seasons in England's top division, the Premier League. This would have been difficult to take for the club's most famous season ticket holder.
As previously mentioned, Prince William is a diehard Villa fan. He also has a season ticket at the club currently managed by Steven Gerrard. He'll be disappointed with the start his team has made after an extremely promising transfer window.
