A hand and fingerprint analyst decodes what your palm says about you
From horoscopes to reading our palms, there are many ways to analyse our character. But looking at your hands can reveal a lot about you. Here, hand and fingerprint analyst Helen Elizabeth Evans reveals what famous fingers say about them.
What can our hands tell us about ourselves?
“They can tell us several things, from our personality to what’s going on in our lives,” says Evans.
“The more obvious characteristics in our hands don’t change but the finer lines, the colour, how we hold our fingers can all change depending on our feelings, health and how we are using our energy. The lines on your right hand represent your public personality and the other, your private life.”
Can they tell the future?
“Yes,” says Evans. “Our hands map out our personalities and tell us what choices we are likely to make based on our character — what drives us and what we want.”
What hand type are you?
People with wide, square palms are more likely to be fixed in nature, loyal and black or white. They tend to struggle with expressing their emotions. Those with irregular or rounder-shaped palms and short fingers are fiery, extrovert and need to be centre of attention. They tend to be action takers who get everyone started. Those with tall, rectangular palms and long fingers need to rationalise, understand and analyse. Sometimes they can be aloof and critical. Those with narrow palms and long fingers are sensitive and emotional, receptive and caring. They may also be artistic.
Tom Cruise: The Provider
The shape of Tom’s palm is that of the ‘loyal soldier’. He’s great at getting done what needs to be done. But he is limited by his own rules, especially in his relationships. His large index finger represents his sense of his own authority. Given its size, it shows he has put more energy into being in control than into getting under the spotlight. His large Venus zone (muscle under the thumb) shows he likes to provide. Tom’s level heart line suggests he thinks more about how he feels than actually feeling it. It’s curved, meaning he’d like to get into his feelings more. Don’t be scared, Tom!

Jennifer Aniston: The Traditionalist
Jen’s fairly straight heart lines that stop under her middle finger show she’s quite a reserved person who is unlikely to wear her heart on her sleeve. Her life lines and head lines are both ‘tied together’ for some distance before they separate, telling us that she is really quite traditional — more likely to take a sensible, grounded approach, thinking things through before taking action. Her little finger is long in comparison with most women’s, emphasising a need for closeness and understanding, a need to be heard. She should put energy into saying what she feels.
