Sure, hockey players are known for their beauty smiles that feature gaps of missing teeth. Brent Burns, with his beard, has made a lifestyle of this look.

But most of the time, the reason why players are missing teeth is because they get a stick up high, or a puck rises up that catches them under the visor and in the teeth. It’s a known risk for players skating around covering only half their face with protection.

Goalies, however, are supposed to be immune to this kind of injury with their full masks.

Ben Bishop found out the hard way that players at his position, too, can suffer injuries like these that will put you in the dentist’s chair at the end of the night. Bishop took a Peter Holland shot up high and, well, now we know he wants two front teeth for Christmas.
