The Lakers’ impressive reach on Facebook was matched by their Twitter following, having also ranked first in the list of NBA teams with the most Twitter followers with 11.88 million. However, despite ranking lowest among NBA teams on Facebook, the Atlanta Hawks didn’t have the smallest following on Twitter, with the last spot taken by the Detroit Pistons. The NBA's official Twitter page on the other hand had nearly 45 million followers.
