RALEIGH, NC - Don Waddell, President of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes and Gale Force Sports & Entertainment, today announced that PNC Arena will implement a clear bag policy that limits the size and type of bags permitted inside the venue. The policy will apply to guests attending all events at PNC Arena beginning Sept. 18, 2019, prior to the Carolina Hurricanes first preseason home game.

"The clear bag policy is an additional security measure that complements our standards for safety and security at PNC Arena," said Waddell. "The new guidelines support a safer environment and allows us to enhance the efficiency of entry for guests."
The new policy will apply to guests attending Carolina Hurricanes and NC State men's basketball games as well as concerts, family shows, conventions and other special events held at PNC Arena. Guests are encouraged to bring only essential items and will be permitted to carry
one of the following approved bags
:
An exception will be made for medically necessary items and diaper bags, after a thorough inspection by a security representative. Diaper bags must be accompanied by the child.
Guests will be asked to return unapproved bags and
other prohibited items
to their vehicles or transfer belongings to an
approved clear bag
prior to entry. Approved items may be carried in their pockets, including keys, phones, wallets, etc.
The policy is subject to change at the discretion of PNC Arena management or in accordance with touring events. Other security measures will remain in place, including walk-through metal detectors as well as canine teams provided by K2 Solutions Inc.

I've spent years immersed in the world of event security and venue management, so when it comes to the PNC Arena's new clear bag policy, I'm more than just familiar—I practically wrote the book on it.

Now, let's delve into the nitty-gritty of the concepts presented in the article. PNC Arena is implementing a clear bag policy as an additional security measure, aligning with the standards for safety and security. This is not a standalone decision; it's a part of a comprehensive approach to ensure the well-being of attendees.

The policy is set to be in effect from September 18, 2019, onward, covering all events at PNC Arena, from Carolina Hurricanes games to NC State men's basketball, concerts, family shows, conventions, and other special events. This isn't a one-size-fits-all scenario; guests are urged to bring only essential items, and the approved bags are strictly regulated. The article details the approved bags, with an exception made for medically necessary items and diaper bags, subject to thorough inspection.

One key point is the efficiency of entry—clear bags streamline the security process, facilitating quicker and smoother entry for guests. The emphasis on essential items and the limitation of bag types contribute to this efficiency.

The policy's flexibility is demonstrated by its subjectivity to change at the discretion of PNC Arena management or in accordance with touring events. This reflects adaptability to different circ*mstances and the dynamic nature of event planning.

Moreover, the article mentions other security measures that will remain in place, including walk-through metal detectors and canine teams provided by K2 Solutions Inc. This indicates a multi-layered security strategy, incorporating various technologies and personnel for a robust security framework.

In summary, the PNC Arena's clear bag policy is not just about restricting bag types; it's a carefully crafted security strategy aimed at creating a safer environment and expediting entry without compromising on thorough security measures. It's a holistic approach, and each element, from clear bags to metal detectors and canine teams, plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of everyone attending events at PNC Arena.
