What Level of Pro Hockey is the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FpHL)?

The FPHL is a Single "A" class league.In the US there are currently 3 classes of professional minor league hockey consisting of Single A, Double A, and Triple A. The highest rank is generally considered to be the American Hockey League (AHL) which is a "AAA" class. Most AHL teams have affiliation agreements with NHL teams for the development of players. The next highest class is the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), which is a "AA" class, many of these teams have affiliation agreements with NHL and AHL teams. There are then 2 single "A" class leagues in the US. The Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL) and The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). Some of these teams are affiliated with ECHL teams.

How does the FHL point system work?

The FPHL awards 3 points for every win, 2 points for every OT win, and 1 point for every OT loss. This is known as "The Olympic 3 Point" scoring system. The league adopted the system in 2011.
