What Is A 6 6 6 Golf Tournament? ›

In this game, teams of two compete against one another for the whole 18 holes. However, there's a catch. After every six holes, the format of the game changes, meaning that the teams play three separate matches in one round.

Round Robin, or 6,6 and 6 as it is sometimes called, is played in foursome in which the two player teams change partners after every six holes. The round is divided into three 6 hole matches which allows each player to play with a different partner in each of the three matches.

The game then involves a best of three format playing your three mini matches every six holes. This means holes 1-6 could be foursomes, 7-12 four-ball, and 13-18 a scramble. Whichever pair wins two or more of the three games therefore wins the overall match.

Once a player is "up" more holes than there are holes remaining to play the match is over. For example, if after 12 holes Player A is 7-up with six left to play, Player A is said to have won the match "7 and 6".

Sixes, otherwise known as Round Robin or Hollywood, is a great game for four golfers with a little extra twist. In Sixes, group members play against each other, 2 vs. 2. But then, players rotate partners after every six holes, so every member of the group partners with every other member over the course of the round.
